A 360 holiday tour through a Christmas village. Best experienced with VR goggles, but you can scrub around with your mouse/finger on your PC/smart device.

I started building this Christmas village in iClone 5 several years ago.  I had used one massive terrain and in this terrain I had set up all kinds of little individual Christmas scenes.

Last year I re-imagined it in iClone 6 as a 360 degree "ride", by creating a sleigh with a driver and a massive path through the terrain. I decided against deleting the scenes that would not be seen from the rider's viewpoint, instead I just added more scenes.  As I added more and more details, the project got out of control, and my computer began crashing and eventually died early December 2016.  I put the project aside until after Christmas.

I started the Christmas project again this summer 2017 with iClone 7 and a brand new computer/video card and the project opened successfully. I was able to add a tonne more detail, including motion capture to the avatars.  But once again, I reached a point where the project would no longer open.  I contacted RL and they VERY GRACIOUSLY sent me an advance version of iC 7.2 which solved my problem and allowed me to keep adding stuff (lol) and finally render it out in time for this Christmas.

It's not my biggest iClone scene and it's not my longest continuous animation, but it does have about 40 avatars and over two million polygons.  It is a single two and a half minute shot.  It took about 24 hours to render.  There is quite a bit of detail that is only visible when you are wearing VR goggles and you can move your head naturally and instinctively.
