Is it possiblewith 3DXchange to convert such FBX (generated by Brekel OpenVR recorder withHTC VIVE) in motion for Iclone? It would bereally nice if someone could help me. I attached the file, if someone wanted tohelp. it looks like this
After try converitng in non Standard
Unfortunately, I could not upload the FBX file.
Thanks inadvance.

I think you forgot to attach it, but his other software uses the standard Maya/HumanIK skeleton.

Thank you very much Rampa. Unfortunately, I could not upload the FBX file. I also just changed the post with pictures.

You can only upload certain file types -- for an FBX, zip it up and upload the ZIP file.
As Rampa says, Brekel uses the Maya rig, so give that a shot (when you do a convert to non-standard human, choose the Maya rigging and it should correctly map all the bones).

Thank Kellytoons for your advice. Now I could upload it and here it is. Maybe you could all help with the conversion. I already tried a lot.

There's nothing there to convert -- if you look at the structure, it identifies itself as a mesh. This isn't a normal "rig" of any type.
I did demo Brekel's Kinect body capture way back when and it will output a regular Maya rig that works fine in iClone via Exchange. My hunch is you aren't using the Brekel software right. For one thing, don't output FBX, output BVH. If you can't figure that out you might want to contact the developer and ask for help (it was eons ago that I used it but I doubt whether I can run the demo anymore as it had a time limitation on it).

This is notBrekel's Kinect body capture. With his Kinect Capture, I had also managed tomake everything go well, but here is about something new. Here is a picture onhis Web- side. It has to be recorded with HTC Vive like the Ikinema Orion.

Yeah, doesn't interest me at all, but I'd look to see if there is a BVH output option. Otherwise contact him and ask him about it (because there is no bone rig there in that FBX file).

So the file basically contains a number of animated tracking controllers, it's not a character at all.
The only thing I can think of is to do something with reach target in iClone. That wouldn't work for the head though.
It would be easier if the motion data could be exported either as a BVH file (as Kelley suggests) or as an FBX file with a proper rig.

You CAN actually use reach target, because the various controller parts are accessible.
However, because of the lack of reference points, you rely on iClone's IK for everything to work right, and you would also need a character of the same proportions as the original. You would probably need to use intermediate dummy props for better adjustment of the reach target. It's an interesting puzzle, but I'm afraid the results are not very good. Also, in general, you want a T-pose at the start to facilitate calibration.

Yes, you can use Brekel data in iClone.Do (2) things and it will WORK!
1. Retarget your animation to a "Humanoid Character." 3dxchange allows you to map your bones to RL's bones. but... 3dxahange does NOT Re-Target animation.
2. "LINK" the dummy's in a Humanoid hierarchy! ____________________________________________________
"Understand what you have, here" ~ 8 (Sepearte) mesh objects. ~ Each Mesh has an Editable Mesh Modifier.~ Each Mesh is....LINKED... to a Dummy.~ The "dummy's" contain animation.BUT.... they have NO hierarchy!
