Not sure what problems you are encountering, but sadly, it does look like motion puppet was broken in a recent upgrade. ARRGGHH!!

This is an update for the above issue

The Issue is now fixed after a few suggested fixes fromPeter and the support team

The issue seems to be my secondary drive just for the motionpuppet so it was suggested to move the Custom and Template and any other folderson to another drive.

So, I have dedicated an external drive exclusively for anything Reallusionand kept the main programs on my “C” drive and the Custom and Template and anyother folders on the Reallusion drive and this has resolved the issue.

Thank you very much to Peter and the support team for their patienceand support.

Best Regards

Glad to hear it, George. Let me see if I understand what you are saying...your Iclone program remains on the "C" drive, but you have moved the custom and template folders to another drive? And you can still reference your content from inside Iclone? I have been messing around with moving folders to other drives with mixed results.

It's very difficult to "move" the folders. But it is really easy to set them where you want them on install. Reinstall iClone and CC. It has a separate option for where your folders install. Then you can just replace those new folders with the old ones, in the new location.

Friends - I have SOO many assets, I divided them into their respective categories by adding/moving folders within the admin's template file manager and organizing them within. It took me days to do it, but I have not only a more organized file manager within iClone, but I also have a complete knowledge of exactly what I DO have, & where it is. Keep in mind this may affect current projects that will look for files that have been moved, so copying along with moving some items - stuff you know you're using is an option to prevent a missing file problem.
The root folder in windows is located here:
 C:\Users\Public\Documents\Reallusion\Template\iClone 7 Template\iClone Template

I have messed around with creating separate props, projects, avatar, etc folders on a separate drive, but not shifting the template or custom folders. In general, this works okay, I use use drag and drop to access them. I have found, though, that any project that uses speed trees doesn't seem to work well when stored on a secondary drive. My curiosity is about the previously broken motion puppet and how switching the folders relates to that.  I had the broken issues even with the standard base motions. They do seem to be working in the new version again.

Like Rampa says if you do it on installing program it worksjust fine.

Regarding “how switching the folders relates to that” I donot have a clue after trying so many fix’s and then it was suggested that I triedthe method mentioned above that worked I was just pleased that this resolvedthe issue.

MERRY CHRISTMASAND A HAPPY YEAR

Thanks, George. I'm glad it's working again, and I may try this down the road to open up more space on my "C" drive. Theoretically, it shouldn't mess up my old projects, except again for those old ones which use the grass and tree assets.

If you don't want to reinstall iClone to move your folders then I have a detailed post on moving Reallusion folders and changing the registry settings that worked for me, it was when I still had just a laptop and needed more hard drive space.  I now have a desktop computer with separate drives for all DAZ and Reallusion products and haven't seen any of issues as described in this post.

Also Roberto Columbo gave us a wonderful program to add motion folders to the Motion Puppet library that works very well, see his post [HERE]

Hope this helps! Smile
