Attaching clothes in CC. Attach in 3dexchange.

Hi

I have some problem when I attach clothes in 3d exchange.

Here is my work flow:

Make the character in CC, export to Clone, and then to 3d exchange.

I export the character and then import to Zbrush. I make the dress in marvelous designer, and import it into ZB, adjust and add hair in ZB.

Export dress and hair. import them into 3dexchange, attach the hair to the head, and the dress to the spine.

Then export the dress and hair, and import them into CC.

Hair and dress looks fine on the body, but when I pose the hair looks fine and follow the head, but the dress is not following the body.

So did I attach to the wrong part?

If I have pant and a shirt, what body parts do I attach to?

Here is my work flow
There is not the right way 
you need rigg your cloth in a 3D aplication 

like Akeytsu 

 only attaching will not work  for Cloth , also you need not 3D xchange !

OK tried this in Maya, and looks like this:

It seems that the dress doesn't follow the skin very nice. Max influence is set to the highest.

I have also added smooth skin weight.

I understand that there needs to be some sort of adjustment, but it looks to be very much.

can you me show a picture from the WM, when e.g. thigh-twist Bone is selected,  in the influence list. 

It looks like you have not select the corresponding Bone for that Mesh area when you painted 

Remember every Bone do have its own WM that indicates which Part of the Mesh has influence of the bone .

Maybe you look for Maya Tutorial that explain the Weightmapping Basics  in general , that you know what you do.

What is WM?

I have not painted anything yet. I think something is not minded correct, since even though I rotate the leg a little the dress does not follow very easy. Especially when I rotate the leg outward/like splitting the legs.

It should follow More.because the copy Wight functiin works very well

I Think I found the error.

I imported the dress as FBX, and Not OBJ, and looks much better.
Now its moving along with the legs. 
Thx. a lot.
I now adjust things so they look ok. and export, but I do not have the game exporter plugin. Can I just export the Dress as FBX?

I did try this, and tried to import it into CC, but get and error,

I use the fox key from the fox I exported from CC.


One thing to mention is when I import the character/FBX into Maya I get this error: There are 3 issues.

obj or fbx is the same in this case , therefore that is not the fix 

your error window indicate, that something wrong in your workflow 
Hip should never show up in this window and also it is  missing the CC Base Components eye and teeth and the dress .

Can it be you have copy the weights from Cloth to the body ? That would maybe explain why your dress not follow the Legs

I chose the body and then the dress, and then copy the skin W. So right now its working, when I split the legs.

But there should not be the error when I import the FBX into Maya.?

I have tried to import other characters from CC, and all of them have warnings and errors, when I import them into Maya.
I use Maya LT 2016

When u export from Maya. Do you export only the dress or also the body? It looks like you export all.

OK, So I loaded the game exporter plugin in Maya. and that seem to be missing. I then chose all in the outliner and export selected.

There seem to be something wrong with the dress:

So I just made the UV mesh in Maya on the dress, and now when I export all, Maya crash all the time when I export.

Ah I think now we have the error of all mistakes
Your dress have not UV Information . You need unwrap your dress before you can texturing and export to CC

After I made the UV on the dress, and export Maya crass all the time.

Not sure why this can effect the export, to make a simple UV on a dress?

It seems You run from one problem to the next. No idea why . I constantly make clothes hair and shoes and it works.
Sometimes I have to change the binding method and I always start from a fresh new scene. Mein Mesh have no ngons and are properly UV Mapped.

But I think when Maya crash,  it indicated somthing is wrong with the mesh .

I Appreciate all your help.

I have Maya LT, and can't exceed more than 100K poly, so have to chose another program for this, so will try Blender.
