If RL was BASED in the U.S. (while it says they are in California it just doesn't feel like a U.S. company to me -- I know their programming staff is overseas, but it also sounds like the folks in charge of marketing are, or we wouldn't get such odd content from time to time) they would be smart and do just this... on Black Friday (or even Cyber Monday).
A whole lot of folks spend money during that time (and research has shown it's mostly on themselves). Even if the product won't launch until December (or even January) they ought to consider such timing for it.

Question: Is there any reason to download the Free version of this editor if you don't use Unity or anything else it works with? Will it be of any use if I just install it on my Windows PC? Can I make anything that I can use or do I have to wait for IClone integration? I have Timeline FX Editor now so was curious...

With the free editor you can create all your particles for free now , BUT you need the Iclone plugin to import it.
The plugin is annouced for end of this year.

Cool! Seriously , if you make good particles I think it could be a success in your market place !! ;)
Have a look at the third post of this trhead of what I really like . Pricing of the different store of all this particles reach 220 $,
I've no probleme with that ;)

I have watched some but not all of those yet. They are excellent. I like them. Hopefully not too expensive though...

The popcorn editor is free , you can download here and create all your particles :

There is no alpha or beta of the Iclone plugin to import it yet.
