How to edit eyes in photoshop

Is there a way to unlock the .pak file that's used for the eyes in CT 5.0? I'd like to remove the "light glint" in one or two of the eye models, if possible.

If the eyes that come with Crazytalk are not to your liking you can import your own instead. From Model - Advanced Facial Settings - Eyes Tab, click the Import button to import your own eye images which you can edit first in photoshop if required.

Take a look at the Tutorial Video that covers this function for more details.

Thanks for your fast response, Peter. I should have known there was a tutorial video on this subject. I think I'm getting it now. One last question; is there a png/jpg/bmp template available for the eyes and teeth? Would make it much easier to design new ones that starting from scratch.

Hi Ricky,

A template is not really needed in most cases. All you need to do is select just the eye from your photo, crop and then resize the eye to 128 x 128. Once you import it into Crazytalk it is completely adjustable for size and position so all corrections can be done within Crazytalk and does not require additional editing in your image editor.

I understand what photo you are referring to. Where would I find a photo of eyes I can use in
CT? Can I just use eyes from any reasonably large photo? I was thinking originally I could use the eyes provided in CT 5.0 and just make adjustments in
Photoshop and import back into CT. How would this work?

Hi Ricky,

In addition to the informative tutorial already provided in this thread, I made a quick video to further assist you on eye editing. Unfortunately, there is no audio, however, it basically walks you thru editing the default template, and then also the method of cut and pasting an eyeball from an image and applying to the template for customization. It isn't overly polished but contains the basic steps.

Keep in mind that the teeth template requires exportation with png transparency.

Hi Ricky,

The "photo" I referred to was any good high resolution photo you may have or find on the net. You should be all set now thanks to Rainman's guide and templates. (Thanks for that Rainman).

I don't find the need for a template in most cases, especially for eyes because all resizing and movement can be done in Crazytalk but anything that makes the process quicker and easier is a good thing, so try it as Rainman has explained to get the hang of it.

If you wanted to edit the eyes that are included in Crazytalk then you could output a high resolution image from Crazytalk and then follow the tutorial for extracting the eyes in the same manner as Rainman has explained.

Hey, thanks so much, Rainman. Your help is above and beyond. You, too, Peter. I think your replies pretty much answer all of my questions on how to edit the eyes and teeth. Once I get the edit done, I"ll post a still of before and after of the project I'm working on. Excellent support.
