I just wanted to ask you guys if there's any character collision in iclone 7 - like when 2 characters intersect, they should no pass though each other.

I know there's some ragdoll physics and collisions available, but from what i saw, that's only available on character / prop level - and not on character / character interaction.

I don't think anyone's achieved even ragdoll in 6, let alone 7 (I found a topic here on the forum discussing it where they said they couldn't do it and it was never updated after a few years).

Character collision is a pipedream, I'm afraid (without a LOT of work, I suppose).

i did a lot of research and that was what i was thinking as well, no character on character collision. but i thought maybe i missed something - guess not...

There are ragdolls for iClone 5, using Bullet physics.

Wil Veeke, I believe, has done things with dummies attached to characters, to get anti-collision behavior. That would be the basis for a physics-based ragdoll.

There is a lot of machinery available in iClone that allows you to do things (sometimes in an unusual way), but it may not be ready-made. Perhaps once scripting becomes available, developers will become creative based on demand.

I think the problem is  amimagic is he is wanting something in a character not a static prop situation. Which is what you have to do to get the Ragdoll situation to work the way Warlord and Stuck on 3D do in their tutorials on Ragdoll creation and usage...

Ragdoll animation is just a couple of clicks. I created several for a client.
...Just bake it down to the bones and.... import it.
Poof!Cool

I understand. You get the physics interaction for the character by attaching dummy props to body parts. There are also rag doll animations for sale in the Market Place. I have used them.
