I can open an FBX mocap file and it goes into 3DExchange but I can't convert to human as it thinks it is a prop.  If I open the FBX modle in Unity it is configured as Human so not sure why that doesn't work.  Any tipes?

FBX is always imported as prop. To convert, make sure your character's root is selected.

In the Modify panel on the right, there is a section called Character (press "N" to go there).

There should be an option Convert to Non-standard.

Click that and you should then be able to start to process to convert from prop to character.

I tried that.  The panel on right shows the node selected is the RootNode but the Character panel is still greyed out. I suspect it might be because I'm just using the Mocap animation FBX as installed from the MOCAP lib.  I will do a bit of checking to see what's missing in it.

An install/reinstall fixed this problem.
