Is there a way to hide body parts of an avatar made in character creator 2 that I bring into iclone 7? I can with a daz character but I'm not seeing the arms appear as a separate item in the material list.

If I understood correctly, you need to make the arms (or another body part) invisible, right? If so:

1) Inside CC, you can go to the "edit mesh" function, and select the parts you don't want to appear, and then press "hide".

2) You can use photoshop (or any other editor) to create an opacity map of the body. You will load the diffuse map of the body in photoshop and you will fill the arms with black color, and the rest of the body with white. Then you will load this black-and-white image to your "opacity" channel. Remember, items that are painted black won't be visible, only white will be.

If something is not clear, tell me and I will elaborate. :)

In Edit Mesh Mode in CC, you can select the part you want to hide and then click Hide. You would still need to add a cover for the opening if it's an arm for example.

This is kind of permanent. Another way is to use Opacity maps, but because of the way those are laid out that not always so straightforward.

EDIT: Lamias beat me to it. I'll have to type faster...

With iClone 7 you can make a Morph that will allow you to hide the mesh or not. I created similar morphs (Body Parts And Amputation Pack) for CC but you can do the same through the Morph Creator and then you will be able to show/hide the mesh at will.
