I am trying to record vocals and MOCAP at the same time, I am using my Perception Neurons. Does anyone have any info on a setup or if it is even possible? Last thing I want to do is get a mic that de-polarizes/fries my neurons.

If it were me I wouldn't use a wireless mic (had nothing but problems with them). Just get yourself a tiny portable recorder, like the Zoom H1. We use these all the time in video recordings, and it's easy to sync up the sound later.

Thanks for the speedy reply! I have a mobile recorder and have thought about using it as well. What kinds of project have you done? I am just looking to start with a very small two character interaction.

I made all of this with Neuron and Wireless micro. The app used to record was Audacity. I'm not a mixer engineer so be indulgent about the mix ;)

NICE! I really like your short flicks, i didn't know there were subtitles until i was almost done with the happy new year 2017 one. So i went back and watched them again haha.
So you did all the MOCAP first with Neuron, and vocals with Audacity then combined the two? Or did you have a wireless headset, recorded with Audacity while Axis Neuron caught the MOCAP? I have Studio One and Sonar but figured it would be difficult to line them up properly. I am also not an engineer, but it is fun to pretend sometimes haha
Where did you make your characters? i use iClone's Character Creator, then i just send them to iClone when i am ready to animate. then i would use Axis to do the motions then send to iClone as well.

Thank you!! I combined the two. I recorded with audacity and Axis Neuron at the same time on the same PC. It's better to have coherent move following voice. I made some mocap cleanup in Axis then broadcasted in Iclone then import the audio file . When recorded the audio I said a "TOP" when pressing Mocap record button. It's easier to synchronize in Iclone.
For my character I posted it in other thread:

That is awesome, what wireless mic system did you use? Did it do anything to your neurons? (I assume not but just asking)

I really appreciate the feedback from you and Kelleytoons To be honest i was always a bit apprehensive about posting things in forums because of the number of people that would rather talk down to you and not help.
Kinda feels good to be proved wrong haha. i think i am going to give it a shot, i got an email back from Noitom as well and hey said that some mics will mess up the neurons and others wont.
Here goes, well, everything haha
