Improved particlesystem, i have these request since 5 years
- Real 3D particles, so they do not penetrate a wall or ceiling (blocking or bounce)
- Light and shadowinfluence on particles - Particle overallscale settings (to change size of whole particle system at the same time) - Reduce speed onparticle (better looking slow smoke etc) - Pre start soparticle is fully grown at frame one when rendering Merge selective parts from a saved scene(full or selected) to a new project Change a material to"unique" inside iClone
Repair a project that cant be open!

PBR is a huge improvement is scene lighting, but I would still wish you consider upgrading Indigo plugin to v4.0 (or at least when they release a full version). It is so much faster and could be even considered for rendering small scale animations.
60 seconds with v3.8
60 seconds with v4.0

I would love to see the mesh editor become more of a sculpting tool with subdivides and being able to add prims into it while sculpting. I would also love to see a substance painter that could be used to paint the models free hand. Everything you guys have so far is awesome and in my own personal usage I would love the suggested.

A functioning, good-quality mirror. See FT #329 and vote!
I'll keep hammering on this until it's there! Although hammering may not be such a good idea with a mirror...
Also, a way to use MIDI to animate instruments and animate playing them.

The facial tracks have some cool new options:
Flatten Clip Sample Clip
Could we also get those same options for body motions? Especially the "flatten". It would be even better if it not only flattened a clip, but flattened all, or a range of, the clips into one clip.

I would love to see the following: 1- functioning mirror planes 2- ability to alter color scheme of the GUI with more options than gray/green 3-ability to flatten animations for props & actor whole body 4- ability to launch UV reference for single component/material

I am referring to CC characters for all my wishful features here. Capsual collision shapes that can be scaled to different sizes at the top and bottom? Maybe even scaled differently between x and y? Thicker on x than y or thicker on y than x.
Or if that cant be done then even collision shapes that just fit the body better. For example the legs thigh is generally thicker near the hip and thinner near the knee. So if the Capsual collision was also thicker at the top and thinner at the bottom then it would help cloth flow without having to use 2 or 3 collision shapes on the knee
Just another thought. Or is it possible to set a limited number of the vertices on the characters body to act as collision shapes? Then we can get rid of the current collision shapes altogether? To my understanding the vertices on CC characters have specific ID's so the morphing sliders know which vertices to move. If that is the case then could some of those ID's be used to specify which body vertices are used as collision shapes from the body itself. That way not every vertice on the body has to be used. I think it would also mean that modifying collision shapes to suit the modified shape on a character would no longer be needed because if the bodies vertices were used as collision points then the collisions would be automatically set to whatever shape the body has been made to
Just a thought?

The possibility of producing separate passes for rendering with: _ Z pass _ Object masks _ Occlusion pass _ Luminosity masks, channels textures, etc. ..etc ...
Like that, with the export / import of camera animation (thank you!), We could do real post-production with rendering Iclone, for many things, this would avoid having to render in another software.

Wishful features posted for iClone 6 will have been logged and will either still be on the "under consideration" list or removed if they were not viable.
However it wouldn't hurt to submit again for iClone 7. Sometimes suggestions that were not considered viable for one version may become viable for a later version.

SOUND In real life we are highly sensitive, as humans, to the direction and quality of sound. The ability to build a soundscape adds a lot to the dramatic impact of any animation. At present you need to go via 3rd party packages such as Adobe After Effects which not all can afford. Stereo or higher level sound for surround effects and footsteps (aka Foley) as well as music and dialogue is suggested.

I think the albedo (or diffuse) textures for the characters have to much shading still in them. I'm talking about the skin with all tan, freckles, makeup, etc. turned off. I still notice shaded areas around the joints and other places.
The effect of this is that all characters have a very similar skin patterning even after editing. I think a "flatter" ( in terms of tonality) texture would be better.

Hey Peter I'll post this in the feedback tracker too but I'm posting it in the forum incase there is a feature that does this already but I'm simply missing it.
In timeline view when changing cameras, can we have a solid rectangle that states "Camera1" or "Camera 2" etc. So you can very easily see which camera is active in the timeline. Muvizu has a visual indicator like this and it's quite handy. As it is now you have to hover over the switch to see what camera is active at a certain point on the timeline. Maybe there is a way to do what it is I'm looking for and I'm missing? I'm usually using 4-5 cameras with plenty of switching. I spend a lot of time hunting through the switcher. Thanks!

Sound is a whoooole other world. That's why there's always a team of people working on it. I totally get where you're coming from though. For a hobby you aren't going to buy a 20k ProTools rig for recording sound, mastering etc. That's more than fair, but audio only editors are going to be much stronger than what you find in any movie editing software let alone an animation software for a reason. There's a lot to it. However, if you need something on the cheap have a look at Audacity. It's free and allows you to multi-track so you can have your score, dialogue, foley etc. all mixed down. You can also use it for noise reduction, EQ attaching reverb etc. It's worth a look since it's free

In one iClone release automatic footsteps were added and that never worked. I like doing sound actually, using a variety of tools (not ProTools, though!).

Im curious for assets, do you do your own modeling (if so what software) or do you use assets from Reallusion? The same with characters, I spotted a few of Dicho's character but others were different? Do you use CC as a base and then tweak them outside of iclone? I use a lot of Daz character andnthem tweak them in zbrush. For materials I use an ancient 3D painting software. I'm curious what your character creation workflow is, because... they look better than mine! Also your lighting looks great! Not to mention your camerawork. I think you're selling your self short here, your evids look great!

After/with the coming motion curve editor, I'd like to see stronger 'pose' animation and keyframing tools. i.e. create poses for bodies/hands/faces and save with a good library/interface - allow animation to be set between poses with layering Strong keyframing tools - allowing in editor placement and allowing for easy foot/hand/interactions (IK/FK) directed animation (character moves from point to point) and easily created/edited/exported animation loops. e.g. create half a walk cycle - mirror the second half and set ins/outs to make smooth loop
In other words - iClone 7 has some great new features (materials/etc) but now I'd like to see the animation tools being revamped to a new level as well :-) [I'm more a traditional/digital keyframe animator and would like to turn off recording to create strong poses]

Character Animation FBX import automatically sets up full blend shape list in morph editor with animation keys wrap deforming for attachments like eyebrows, mustaches, beards. Need a way to attach and have the underlying skin drive deformation. direct manipulation and input for head keyframe animation like Pixar's Presto and Snappers Rig revamp of viseme system using machine learning for much more accurate viseme, realtime speach to text, sentence and tonal analysis drives expression and lip-sync. import/export of ASCII text file with that describes which phoneme is hitting in what frames
Animation cuve editor with custom filtering and scripting support (coming soon) Global setting for project frame rate (24,25,30,50,60, custom fps timelines) Save keyframe pose as a blendshape Collect clip options for select all or frame range input Pose based deformation correction
Mocap Support for takes with capture xsens support (coming soon) Ikinema integration simultaneous body, face, and viseme capture (they are doing this so coming soon)
CC character clean proper quad topology designed for correct deformation Auto-rigging and rig adjustment Use HIK naming convention for skeleton Use scan data or high-poly character sculpt as morph imput
Import Alembic, USD, possibly glTF import with full scene support blend shape animation import with FBX import import handled in iClone and CC, ditch 3DX
Export Export full scene as FBX, Alembic, USD, maybe glTF if it catches on Export as Substance instead of baking option Export handled through iClone and CC, ditch 3DX.
Render Pass support (depth, AO, diffuse, shadow, reflection, Object ID/matte, vector, etc) Cryptomatte support MUCH better control of export formats and more support for professional formats Stereo 360 output option
Pipeline Houdini Engine support Keep up to date with VFX Platform specifications Load on demand referencing Large scene support through intelligent culling and LOD

I wonder why there is no orthogonal camera view in iClone (3DXchange already has it - sort of). It is quite useful view mode in some situations. Specifically, when you need to arrange/rearrange/level with precision a lot of props at the scene. Perspective view is giving me a headache, while I am moving things around.

Morph Creator/Animator is a great tool, which can be used not only to deform the mesh but simply move and/or rotate props. With morphs you would have more control over props as oppose to baked perform actions or key-frame animation simply because 3-rd party apps (where morph are created) have more precise tools for that. This is especially true for the complex props hierarchy or when precision is required.
So in addition to moving vertices linearly from one point to another, it would be nice if Morph Animator be able to rotate them in addition, clockwise or counter clockwise... say around given pivot point? This would open a door for a whole lot of new possibilities.
Here is what I mean. The gold box is moving just fine, while silver box is getting deformed in rotation because of the linear vertex movement. I can sure animate it without morphs, but the morph are easier to use and and once done no need to think about distance, angle... etc. Invaluable in more complex scenarios.

The iclone 7 really tried to push the visual quality by introducing some great features such as Physically Based Rendering and Realtime Voxel Based Global Illumination (VXGI).
However much more can be done to improve the graphical quality even more
For example despite introducing PBR and vxgi the current iclone 7 looks lacking in terms of graphics when compared to some tools such as Unreal Engine, Cryengine, Unity.
Well This is my wish list for future iclone releases
1.Correct linear lighting & PBR 2. Deffered Shading 3.Better Shadow maps 4.Soft Shadows and Hard Shadows with PCSS filtering 5.Screen Space Shadows 6.Better Screen Space Reflections 7. Volumetric Lighting 8.Area Lights 9. Physical light units, IES lights. 10.Order Independent Transparency(if possible) 11.Realtime Reflection Probes 12.Better Shaders and a good shader system 13. A Day Night cycle and weather system ( if possible) 14. Local Fog 15.GGX with Metal & Specular 16.Anisotropic GGX 17.Sub-surface scattering with translucency 18.Clear coat shader 19.Double sided shader 20.Good specular occlusion 21.Hair, Eye, Cloth shading models
Correct HDR for GI Consistency with direct illumination Soft Shadows from indirect illumination

HI Reallusion,
What Iclone 7.2 can do is brilliant, amazing and also excellent. In each Version new Hot Features were added. Thank you very much.
What we are really missing is a 3D TEXT-TOOL to create INSIDE of Iclone 3D Text
on the fly wich each available fonts on the pc/mac and the typical font settings like bold, italic, wide, narrow and so so and so forth.
With other words a little integrated Text processor for real 3D Letters/TEXT. So we can animate the Letters separately.
We create a concept for it but it stops at the point that Iclone- Users are not allowed to use Objects that are not brought in over 3Dexchange.
Yes we can convert a font over a external 3DApp and after hours of converting and sub prop building ( no batch for that is available in 3Dexchange) we can export each letter or the whole font to Iclone. BUT what if we have thousands of fonts we will use inside iclone?
So the only way could be the generation of the 3D-Letters inside Iclone directly. PLEASE GIVE US a fully 3D TEXTPROCESSOR inside of Icone.
Thank you for listening. We gave this wish more than 3 times in the feedback tracker with NO Success or answer to it....so we try it here again.

I forgot about this thread ^^
Lets see, hum.. - Animation Layering - So we could layer several animations of the same type/track. Like any animation mixer found in lots of DCC. - Brigade Engine as the main, native rendering iClone engine (viewports and final rendering). or - A Custom Unreal Engine version that would be integrated into iClone as the main, native rendering iClone engine (viewports and final rendering). - Re-integration of a "Director Mode", with a Unreal Blueprint like system to create Character Behaviors (behavior trees, events system, ai, etc.. including for Facial animation) that could be "puppeteered"/triggered in realtime. - Re-integration of the Bullet physics properties and constraints panels.

Having used it for a few months, the biggest issue is Character real8sm.
So, a ‘super render’ mode that doesn’t work in real time (we can render a single frame to check it looks correct) that increases the character realism to Blender standard. Without this high realism, this program can never be used as a serious movie making tool.

There is a lot of animation that doesn't look "realistic", including 3D animation, and is still enjoyable and worth watching. Blender is one approach but certainly not the only one.

since your aiming for iclone to have compositing capabilities why not allow png sequences? i get that your trying to sell popvideo as well but its a contradiction to the direction your headed do you want this to be a pro app or have people jumping into hitfilms or AE instead popvideo isnt very good at its job.
also you could contact red giant and ask them about porting RG universe to iclone, this would be a huge leap.

PATH tool
Please add an option for the object/avatar to remain in position when released from a path. At the moment, as soon as you release an object/avatar part way along or at the end of a path, it jumps back to the beginning of the path. There doesn't seem to be an option to prevent this. iClone ignores any transform keys.
I have received some helpful suggestions from fellow iClone users in regards to workarounds (ie link a dummy prop to the path and then attach the object/avatar to this object), but surely we shouldn't have to resort to band-aid fixes ? There should be an option simply for the object to remain in place when released from the path ?
I tend to do everything to avoid using PATH because it isn't very friendly to use in this regard.

Greetings! I have a suggestion ....
Could we (please) have "scrolling" the mouse wheel for "expanding" and "contracting" the timeline?
● Scrolling the mouse wheel forward = "Zoom-in" (to a magnified portion of your timeline work), and ● Scrolling the mouse wheel backwards (towards you) = "Zoom-out" (to a wider, more complete view of the timeline).
Very intuitive .... quick and easy .... similar to Vegas!! .... it's very "editor friendly" !!!
Thank-you for your consideration .... Keep up the good work !!

#1 - @Benny - Please go back and EDIT your post... Click "Format"... then click the last icon which is "Remove All Formatting." That will get rid of the "black text on black background" problem.
#2 - I agree with Benny's request. Iray (in CC3) is really fun, but not likely to be practical for most of us to use for iClone animation rendering. The iC7 native renderer is pretty good, but I would love for it to be even better. Faster, SSS, volumetric lighting...

I don't agree with the request because it is overly vague. There is really no point in comparing game engine rendering (which is fast because a lot of it is pre-compiled) and iClone rendering. I also object to the impression being given that no improvements have been made.

Good points. In my haste, I probably latched onto the first phrase and focused on that. I shall both agree and disagree with you.
AGREE with you that it is vague. DISAGREE with you that it implies no improvements have been made. However, the tone (especially at the end) is not helpful.
But as I put in my reply to Benny, I believe there is room for improvement (and I'm sure you would agree with that aspect of his comment). In that reply I listed a few specific items I'd like to see listed on roadmap for 2019.
To be most effective, of course, SPECIFIC requests should be put in Feedback Tracker, where we can comment and VOTE on them.
