I am using Iclone to created an animated version of my superhero graphic novel, "Those Who Walk in Darkness". The first episode was really just a learning process for me to figure out how to use Iclone 6. Episode 2 is nearly done, and thanks to courses by Alan Marques, it looks much better. Here's a trailer which has some shots from both episodes.

I saw the first episode!! Looks really good! The animation may be a bit edgy, but in general, it was a very good first try!!

Keep them coming!!

Appreciate the encouragement, Lamias. I've been a storyteller in a number of different media, and have experience in video and audio production...but this is my first try in animation. So many really great animators here ... and I can see the weak areas in my work. But I'm getting better, Episode 2 is not that far from completion and shows a good improvement. I'm having a lot of fun.

Thanks for the link. Just watched the first episode. Great scenery, fantastic voice acting and some pretty cool special effects. I agree with Lamias that the animation could be smoothed out but that comes with time and practice. Speaking of time, how long did it take you to create episode one in iClone? Did you have any problems rendering scenes or experience many crashes? I'm curious because I am in the process of creating a video which will be about 23 minutes long and many of my scenes have to be rendered in small pieces rather than in large clips. Many of the large clips hang and stop rendering. I am rendering sequence .png images, Super Sampling with medium (2x2) sample size. How did you render your video?

Yes, I learned the hard way that the clips needed to be relatively short in duration for rendering, especially in some of the asset-heavy scenes I did. I've since learned better ways to do a lot of things I did wrong in the first episode. I don't have any scientific rule-of -thumb for length of scenes rendered, but I know if I get them too long that the program will crash. So I rendered in short scenes and put them together with a different video editing program. I rendered video, not still sequences, HD 1080p, with super sampling of 3x3 and mostly high quality shadow. But I have no idea what the super sampling does, I just put it on the max setting.

My animation is getting better, with less foot-sliding and jerky transitions, but I still have a long way to go.
