Hello CC users,
CC 2.0 has launched for over two months, and we are wondering if you've tried publishing your models to Sketchfab yet? Sketchfab just announced the integration with Character Creator in this blog post. There are over 1 millions 3D models from 800,000 artists in the community, you can share your character there also get inspired by the great works.
ABOUT THE INTEGRATION
This is the first character we uploaded after the Sketchfab integration.
Click this webpage to see the difference we've made to the uploader ...... If it isn't abundantly clear, then look at the lower right corner of the page and you will notice the "Uploaded with Character Creator" label shown under the description area! :)

PUBLISH YOUR WORKS NOW TO SKETCHFAB FOR A CHANCE TO BE FEATURED BY REALLUSION
The ability to add models you're interested in into your own Collections is one of the many great things about Sketchfab. We have already invited ToKoMotion & Antareus Digital to showcase their content in Sketchfab, and now it's your turn!
* This is the showcase where we invited Antareus Digital to demonstrate the capability of exporting 3D characters along with 3D scene and props directly from IC7 (still under development).
PUBLISH AS "FREE" MODEL IS PROHIBITED
*Users are not allowed to publish "free models" to Sketchfab under the regulations of the EULA:
Any and all default CONTENT in the Character Creator is the property of and proprietary to REALLUSION, and cannot be published in any third-party marketplace.

Cool thing. I was asking myself how Antareus uploaded all the props to Sketchfab - good to know that we may see such a feature in iC7. Really good work.
Additional question: Will it be possible to upload also more than 1 character in one file to sketchfab then?

It's strange... I try to send templates on Sketchfab but I am confronted with the problem of the weight of the files ... even with the parameter setting of textures at minimum, 256x256.
I look at your video explanation, you have a complex character and with many textures in multi-layer at the maximum of their size (2048 * 2048). To the result your model weighs 92mo, which is very good!
Here's one of the characters I'm trying to send. There are few garments:) ... not all textures are in PBR. I rule on 256x256 and the best weight I can do is 68mo.

On this second screenshot, I arrive at 46 mo ... but there is only the shorts and the t-shirt ... and my textures are in 256x256!
Do you have an explanation? Did I forget anything? thank you in advance!

mmmmm...and my model is... white !

Except the hair! But have lost quality ....
I understand ... I usually work in .png. On this model, the only texture that is not a png is the alpha hair layer which is a jpeg ......
I will test to convert all the textures into jpeg to see if it works ... I will inform you of the results
EDIT : By exporting the character to group the textures, I realize that even the textures of the body are in PNG ... so my explanation should not be good ... I do not understand ...
EDIT 2 : Ah ... I think that anyway I will not find the solution on my side ... I tried to pass all the textures in jpeg but the problem remained ... it can be a problem of installation ...

That's great news.
I just created a Sketchfab account a couple weeks ago. https://sketchfab.com/justaviking Hope I create a character worthy of being uploaded soon.
P.S. I'm going to have to learn how people upload animated files, not just still models. That's pretty cool.

Is it still true that one needs an export license to publish? In that case it would not be for me I'm afraid.

interesting.. I'm wondering here what is going on. just for the fun of it. I downloaded the free character mentioned in this posting. it's in FBX format of course. so I went thru 3dxchange 6 and my results are amazing! the texture is not there. and when sent to iclone 6, the arms are wrapped around the shoulders. amazing! I am very impressed! so like.. anyone know why this would occur?

I must say... a most curious texture map for the fingernails.

I have the same problem that materials are not assigned in 3DXchange. They are for other FBX files.
EDIT: Even if 3DXchange would load them, it wouldn't be right, because currently 3DX doesn't support PBR materials. I hope that will be added.
The wrapping around in iClone occurs because the character exports from Sketchfab without T-pose reference. Instead the first pose is taken as T-pose. I've trading loading a T-pose in 3DXcahnge, but it has no effect; you get the first pose instead.

ToKoMotion (5/26/2017) Cool thing. I was asking myself how Antareus uploaded all the props to Sketchfab - good to know that we may see such a feature in iC7. Really good work.
Additional question: Will it be possible to upload also more than 1 character in one file to sketchfab then? No, not directly from CC, you can make the combination in IC. :)

Hi Job, were you mentioning 3DXchange pipeline or the export license of the content?
