hope someone can help me, because Reallusion support for my problem
is either being ignored or they can't help me.

I purchased crazy talk 5, and it installed okay.

My problem occurs every time I try to open any image file for use in the software.
Once I click on the file to open it, Crazy Talk crashes, and I get an error message
telling me that CTMAIN exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. This happens
with any type image file on my computer, with the exception of the software characters.

I've unintalled and reinstalled the software many times, and still have the same problem.

Can someone on this forum help me out.

Thank you.

Hi, Kent

Thanks for sharing this issue with us here.
As I know, the customer support has passed this problem to QA dept.
I am not sure how long it will take to solve this case.
In general, they can fix it in 3-5 days.
You can try to deliver more info about your system and your use hitory to support form.
Maybe they can know the cause sooner.

Thanks

I've contacted the support team and i am currently waiting for a response but does anyone know if its fixable? cause its a real shame that you cant use software that has cost money! :(

Hi Ritchie,

I'm really sorry to hear you have still not heard from Support.

Did you use the Support Form (Link below) to contact Support. This is the only way you should generally contact them and the quickest for a response. If you didn't use the form, please fill it in and send it as soon as possible.

http://www.reallusion.com/CustomerSupport/User/QForm.aspx

If you did use the form then please check your spam or junk folders because so often replies from Support go in these folders and are often overlooked. Also have you received any reply from support at all such as a receipt email with tracking number? If you did then you can send a Personal Message to me with the number and I will find out what is going on for you.

With regards to the problem you are having with Crazytalk. Have you tried using different image files to see if it is happening with all pictures or just certain images, say from the same camera or source. This something to check to eliminate possible causes.

Please accept my apologies for the delay and inconvenience you have been caused by this problem. I hope we can get this resolved for you soon.

I tryed reallusion support with no success this is what they said.

They made it sound like it was my pc that was at fault. After completing most of what was asked below it still didn't work right

Thank you for contacting Reallusion.

The Kernel32.dll file handles memory management, input/output operations, and interrupts. When you start Windows, Kernel32.dll is loaded into a protected memory space so that other programs do not take over that memory space. There are various factors, which cause Kernel32.dll crash. The following conditions can cause Kernel32.dll error messages:
1. File allocation damage.
Please try to full uninstall and reinstall the program.

2. Bad or outdated drivers, especially video drivers:
Check with your card manufacturer for an updated set of drivers. Video drivers are updated constantly, it pays to have the latest release, especially if you find yourself having problems with Internet Explorer.

3. Conflicting with TSR or other running program
You need to close whole terminate and stay resident programs. If you are running the other applications at the same time, please stop them first.

4. Non-existent or broken Temp folder
You can delete temp files via the following steps.
(a) Click Start, and then click Run.
(b) In the Open box, type %Temp%, and then click OK .
(c) Delete all of them.
(d) Go to C:\Windows\Temp
(e) Delete all of them.

5. Incorrectly installed printer drivers or HP Jetadmin drivers
Please try to full remove your printer drivers.

6. Computer Viruses
Due to computer viruses are capable of tampering with the system settings / memory, it is possible for a computer virus to generate a error. If you are currently running a virus protection program on your computer ensure it has the latest updated patch or .dat file.

7. Graphic acceleration set too high:
Select Control Panel > System, then select the Performance tab, click the Graphics button. Turn down Hardware acceleration by moving the slider a notch to the left, reboot, try again.

8. Low disk space.
Please be aware the disk space should be enough.

9. More on the possible causes:
1) Damaged or incorrect version of the Kernel32.dll file.
2) Damaged registry.
3) Hardware, hot CPU, over clocking, broken power supply, RF noise, ground bounce, or bad hard disk controller
4) Third-party software that is damaged or incorrectly installed .
5) Incorrect or damaged hardware driver
6) Incompatible or damaged dynamic link library files
8) Bad memory modules.
9) CPU, bus speed or multiplier overclocking.

If you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Yours sincerely,

Mick

Hi Carl,

It's great to hear you have resolved the problem with Crazytalk 5.1. :)

With so may different PC configurations out there and the varying software that users have installed on their PC's, it is sometimes very difficult to give one way to everybody to fix a problem. Often it does take a little trial and error to find a resolution.

In your case, with a little ingenuity you were able to get Crazytalk running, and well done for doing so. You certainly shouldn't need to change the compatibility to Windows 95 or any other setting to run Crazytalk and the vast majority of users will never need to touch the compatibility settings at all. In your case it worked and that's the important thing after all.

Thanks for sharing your experience. This will give another option to those having problems running the software. Have fun with Crazytalk 5. :)
