Check your temp folder

Hello,
I have noticed Iclone6 stores temp data in the folder C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Temp and,
does not delete this when program closes which is very annoying as,
the folder grows to a very large size and once you have saved your project then this data is not required.

Iclone6 also stores data in the temp folder as specified in preferences but this data is deleted on closing the program.

Could anyone let me know if it is the same bug on their pc.

Thank you.

I don't think it's a bug, most programs use this area to store user data for applications and iClone is not the only program that doesn't delete AppData folders even when uninstalled, DAZ is the same way on my machine as well as Adobe and Apple's uninstallers.

However it could actually store a corrupt file which is what I'm assuming happened when I was having issues with iClone after the last patch.  Uninstalled/reinstalled several times and still had the exact same problems with every re-installation, only after finding the iClone AppData folder and deleting it did all the issues with reinstalling  and consistent hanging disappear.

So I don't think it will hurt anything to delete it if your having problems, it will put it back as it's supposed to when needed.  Most disk cleaners can be run automatically at start up or shut down and should let you specify folders or files to include in it's scan.

For me personally I'll leave it alone as long as the program is playing nice with me and if not out it goes before I spend a week or two back and forth with support to try to figure out why the program is having issues, deleting the corresponding AppData folder will be my first step from now on.

Wjan, you mentioned that iCLone deletes temp files from a directory specified in preferences. Is that a different directory than C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Temp?  That might be a problem.
You should probably point iclone temp folder preferences to the same Temp folder as your OS environment has assigned (which is C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Temp I assume).
On my PC I have changed Temp folder to C:\Temp in the system and iClone is pointed to C:\Temp\ICLONE\iClone6Temp in preferences. I never have a problem with iClone files being accumulated. iClone6Temp folder is always getting deleted on exit.

I have always had my iClone Temp folders on a separate drive, and have never had a problem with the contents of these folders getting deleted when iClone is exited normally. There have been occasions where the files were not deleted after a crash, but even then these files were deleted after reopening iClone and then exiting normally.

if iClone crashes using physX that folder can have a huge amount in it
I have seen 80GB
restore projects that fail to restore etc
I regularly delete everything I can in that folder as it fill with crap from other programs too, I have it listed for clearing in CCleaner.

Hello,
Thank you all for the replies,
I have my temp folder from preferences on drive E, and all data in this temp folder is deleted when I close I clone.
The problem is that iclone also puts data in the temp folder on drive C  at the same time as on drive E,
and this data on drive C does not get deleted but constantly accumulates,
I think there is a problem with moving the temp folder in preferences to another folder or drive.
Does anyone else have this problem ?
wjan.
