Creating a Necromancer for my next video.

Hi guys: Smile

I needed a Necromancer type character for my next video but couldn't find what I was looking for so I decided I'd have to make him as a customized creation. Not many sorcerers running around the marketplace but I hoped the Reallusion character "Moloch" would offer some possibilities.

I removed the Pauldrons as they were moderately well done and looked heavy. 'Squishy's' (as they were called in World of Warcraft) didn't wear hard armor as it reduced their ability to cast magic so the shoulder pads were a bit inappropriate as well. Then I removed the face cowl and bracers (Both are fine and I plan to use on the acolytes.) with the opacity slider and ended up with a much cleaner character. Moloch's head does not have facial bones so it had to go. (It 's an excellent head, very sinister and I plan to use it  as well. Maybe as unspeaking acolytes of the Necromancer.) Surprisingly, there was a little baby head underneath that WAS rigged so I increased the size and put a face I'd created on it. After that I added hair, a new set of bracers, some new cloth shoulder pads, some overall color enhancements and Bada-Bing. A newer fresher, sexier, more comic-booky and charismatic Necromancer, Hope ya like the change.

Pete,

Really like the end result. I know you already have one submission in for the Banner contest but you should also consider entering your necromancer. Smile

Thank you Walt, glad you liked him. Smile
I show how I modify existing avatars to fit my needs so that those who are new to Iclone can see there are other possibilities than just always using a stock character.

I'm going to take your advice and cut-down the pic for a banner. I'm not much for competition so I like the fact that the banner thing isn't really a competition between our forum artists. I feel it's just a way for us to show our work on a new venue and for Reallusion to showcase the art and the artists who use their fine products. Sounds like a Win/Win.

Thanks again Walt.

WOW!  That is great work!

I used Moloch in my Sci-Fi Series on Amazon, Galactic Blitz... but don’t have the talent to do the transforms you did.

Is any of your modified character work available to share?

Hello Pete,
You have created a magnificent character from the G2 Moloch.
I like it very much. Class work.
I created a magician in the CC from the same clothing last year.

Thank you very much Dwacon. I figure out most of it by luck. Smile I painted most of my life and found that the finished product always looks more complicated than it really was to do. (With the exception of animation which is every bit as complicated as it looks. Tongue ) This character is from my next vid so I can't share him however if there is a particular character customization you'd like, I'd be willing to give it a shot for you. That being said, I must say that I think you sell yourself short. Your work is awesome and I can assure you that, in my view, you have more than enough talent to do better than this.

Werner:

Thank you man, that is high praise coming from such a great character designer as yourself. Wink I checked out your 'Moloch' custom and I think it is incredible. Very sinister and scary. I feel we think much alike in this area. Smile

Thanks again guys.

Hi Pete,  No I didn't make that, it's from the game Guildwars 2,  it's my necro character from the game,  they have some of the best modelers around and their artwork is really good,  i often visit the game when i need inspriation / ideas,  this is a special armor I got in the game,  wanted to share to spark more ideas,  yours looks great!

Never played Guildwars, had many friends who did, but I already had time invested in World of Warcraft.(6 years worth all totaled Doze ) Like you I too draw inspiration from my game playing days. It's especially useful when the well runs dry. Smile
Your necro character looks like he'd be a blast to play. I always tended towards warriors, usually protection warriors but sometimes I'd stray into healers for instances where the party was heavy on warriors already. It was a gas to play.
