Hi Kevin,

Love your characters!! I saw some FACERIG characters with facial mocap , did you export from facerig then import in Iclone?
If yes , can you share some tips? I backed the indiegogo facerig project 2 years ago because they promised a facial mocap export
but they never release it.....

You are right I have not made a full movie for iclone yet and I should,
Maybe with some of the good story tellers here I will get something together, telling stories is not my thing animating is.:-)

Maybe with some of the good story tellers here I will get something together, telling stories is not my thing animating is.:-)

Doing a full movie is very time-consuming in most cases, so that´s why I also prefer doing some shorts in between.

Doing a full movie is very time-consuming in most cases, so that´s why I also prefer doing some shorts in between.

I agree time is a factor and I dont like being stuck on one project for long periods of time :)

All my animation shorts are 30 seconds to 2 min, 10 seconds is to short :)
Its just a quick demo..:)

Just like the 10 second test videos you have posted, No one is forcing you to watch them...:crazy:
I dont animate to please other people, I animate cause its fun and I enjoy it :D

LOL Oh O' Wait am I suppose to care what everyone thinks of my art ...cause I dont" ether you enjoy it or you dont.
Using iClone is not a competition, some users are more experienced then others ya, but that's the case with any software.
iClone is a tool for creating what ever art someone wants to create. Again I dont create art to please other people,
I create art because its fun and I enjoy it. Do I care if a total stranger does not like my art, lol absolutely not ;).
I have used iClone on and off for 7 months now and put out over 170 animations some good some bad, but I am ok with that :D
Sometimes its not about how great a persons art is, sometimes its about the devotion and effort a person puts in, that gets rewarded.

I don't know if I'm part of the upper-tier, but haven't watch all 130+ yet...:blush:

Seriously though, I watched some of it, and you're much farther ahead than I was after 7 months using iClone ten years ago. Of course iClone 1.5 couldn't do what is possible today.

I think you have a good eye for composition and attention to detail and also a lively imagination. Camera work is also quite effective. I would like to see some scenes with sound rather than music as it will bring out another dimension (maybe you have some, I mainly watched part of the compilation).

For me it was also interesting to see what can be done with the iClone + Hitfilm combination. I have Hitfilm, but haven't used it much.

I do have a few clips with some kind of sound but not many here are a couple I maybe Have 10 more ..to many to list here :-)
But I have not made any movies as of yet. Maybe after 600ish animations I will be at the skill level I wanna be in iclone for a good short film:)
When iclone 7 comes out I will step up my game...:w00t:

Hey kevin.S,

I'm seen many shorts created with very nice <AE - HitFilm> templates, done by users whom make comments like, "This looks like something from 10 years ago."...
They are good, but don't teach the iClone community anything.... You do.

What I really enjoy about your work is, "An idea is broken up into shorts expressing certain functionality." Plus you have the ability not only to add vfx,
but.... nice animation, too.
For me.... the animation is what grabs me.

You've done a great job with everything.

Im sorry your confused....
Its vary simple this forum is a community of users who use reallusion products, users are all different skill levels and artists
from around the world .We all come here to share ideas, talk about issues, learn, ask questions etc, there is nothing to understand.
No artist is the same, reallsuion products can be used for what ever a user wishes. There is no competition to be the best and no top
level teir guys, its a community forum just like any other forum. :D

Kevin, not offended by my words, particularly your work has good shades, but as you are an expert in many programs, what I would like to see is something more elaborated with Iclone, already I'd dominate the programs you use, and of course I understand it is the forum for iclone, greetings

I will make a movie at some point with iclone once I feel I have reached the skill level I desire for myself. Every program I learn I try to make at least 300+ animations first, to bring my skill set up in that software package. I do not post work I do in other programs in this forum, unless it is related to or used with Reallusion products. I also have a life, wife, work etc to deal with :) time is a factor...getting older :D Just a hobby artist for now...

Kevin, it's interesting: I can come up with a story and then I will start making the movie. It's a struggle, because I may not have reached the skill level to accomplish everything I want perfectly. But then, just be making the movie, I learn and have a movie too. However, I also appreciate that it's highly personal what you find acceptable for yourself.

Some pepole do have one or two grest animation shorts but most animators can't put out the amount of animations you have in such a short time. I think you are one of the best iclone animators and reallusion knows this, there is a reason you are being featured in articles and by reallusion and others. Keep up the good work! Your work is inperational.

I think your stuff is pretty awesome
I do not comment much on youtube if at all, I watched on Vimeo anyway
if you want to have a "storyline" like Antxon, jjust have random armies or creatures killing each other.
because that's apparently very meaningful and unique :crazy: no matter how cinemagraphic it might look it gets boring fast too.
I will never judge a fellow iClone user on their work but I do react to trolls who pick on others.

Im trying to put a list of tutorials together people might want to see do you have any suggestion on what you might like to learn tips tricks etc
in ether Hitfilm or iClone or crazytralk I dont want to take time to make tutorials people wont watch so im looking for feedback :D

Never heard of Hitfilm until yesterday... can someone please explain what benefit it brings? If everything is done in iClone as with Kevin's first examples, why render in Hitfilm?

I'm guessing the camera and lights and everything needs to come over to Hitfilm, and all the textures etc.. surely that is painful? Is it just because of the video editing aspect of Hitfilm or is the render quality really that much better? Something else?

Hitfilm is a video editor with lots of effects like particles, light rays, compositing, you can add models etc etc etc
it works great to edit add effects alter colors clean up video etc etc its not just good for iclone but anything you make.
Think of it kind of like photoshop and after effects...I personally use it for cleaning up videos and adding effects.I also use it
to make space scenes.

GREAT work Kevin!

I bought Hitfilm Pro two months ago but I am already hooked. I like it very much. Great community support too. IClone & Hitfilm is a really awesome combo and there are many things that can be done entirely within Hitfilm. Really impressive tools for the money.
