Hi!

I was wanting to do text on Iclone. I've seen a tutorial on YouTube but still unclear on a couple of things. Do you need a XML editor to do the text. If so can anybody recommend any software that is good? Paid or free, preferably free :D

The text that Iclone shows as an example, big bulky 3D lettering can that be done using the 3D editor, or is that done in conjunction with something else?

Finally, seen some really cool fonts available through digital juice anyone know if this cab be used in Iclone. It says on their website that it can be saved as a PSD file and used in After Effects but not sure if it can be used anywhere else. I notice that Reallusion have partnered with them in some way as they sell widgetcast and Reallusion sell their motion elements so I assumed all their material could be used in some way.

Cheers Guys :)

Have you got a link or two showing what you're looking for? I created a Twenty Five Font -3D Font Pack long ago, which can be used for individual placement of letters or for combining as whole words. I thought I had it in the store, but it isn't there...could have disappeared when the store was transferred to a new server...who knows? Mute Point at the moment if you don't need them as 3D props.

Video Link to what I'm referring to

If it's only text you want as a texture, any photo editor will do that for you.

If you have Sketchup and 3DXchange you can make 3d text using most fonts in Sketchup, convert it to a .VNS file in 3DXchange and import it as a prop in iClone. Once in iClone you can animate it which ever way you want, change the texture, whatever.

I have the Digital Juice fonts and AFAIK, the only way the digital juice fonts can be used inside Iclone is just like any other text - you can open a "plane" prop in iclone, then launch your photo editor and put the text on the plane making an opacity and diffuse map.  The fonts are not 3D.

The text would only be 2D though.
