Hi Guys,

I have just seen this video https://youtu.be/lHPm2nrwRIM

Showing how to add motions to the Motion Puppet.

1. Is this classed as a 'hack' ie will it always work in futire version.
2. This is such a powerful tool it should be made a simple as drag a folder and hey presto. (or I am missing something here). It is a very tedious process.

Thoughts comments.

Cheers

The Motion Puppet was introduced in iC5, and is probably not going any time soon, if ever.

It is a little tedious. My recommendation is to duplicate the existing base folder and toss out the duplicate motions. It's easier than creating them from scratch, and the existing categories might already be what you need.

Just doing a few new motions is not to bad. Doing a lot is a total drag. The extra files and the pics (try and use the existing ones if you can) are a total PITA. It really should just be a drag-&-drop thing right in the tool in iClone.

Motion Puppet is made to work with "in place" motions. Those are motions that animate in place and are then translated around the scene similar to how a game engine would do it. So if you have motions that have the character animating away from the locked-in-place root (like mocap), your going to get snap-back when the motion loops. Motions that have the root-tracking applied in iClone get the root motion stripped out.
