Suggestion .....Iclone 6 website Specs
- Dual core CPU or higher
- 4GB RAM
- 5GB free hard disk space
- Display Resolution: 1024 x 768
- Color Depth: True Color (32-bit)
- Graphics Card: NVidia Geforce GTX 400 Series/ AMD Radeon HD 5000 Series
- Video Memory: 1GB RAM.....:.........................................................................

You have 1 gig of video memory listed' WHAT::crazy:!!!!!......Nothing will run with one gig of video memory
Recommended System Requirements: (iClone will have better performance in below recommended environment) - Intel i5 dual core CPU or higher
- 8GB RAM or higher recommended
- 10GB free hard disk space or higher recommended
- Display Resolution: 1920 x 1080 or higher
- Graphics Card: NVidia Geforce GTX 600 Series/ AMD Radeon HD 7000 Series or higher
- Video Memory: 2GB RAM or higher recommended
- Video card compatible with Pixel Shader 3.0 recommended for optimized visual performance
Here you have 2 gigs or higher..it should be at minimum 4GB to 8GB for recommended...2 gigs is hardly enough to run any 3d software or games.
At least list optimal system specs for iclone maybe something like this
Optimal System Specs
- Quad core CPU or higher
- Windows 8.1 or better
- 8GB to 32GB System RAM
- 20GB free hard disk space
- Display Resolution: 1920x1080 or better
- Color Depth: True Color (32-bit)
- Graphics Card: NVidia Geforce GTX 900 Series / AMD Radeon R7 Series or better
- Video Memory: 8GB or higher recommended
- DirectX 11 or better
I mean really! try running VR or the Neuron or Mocap with 1 gig of video memory!:P On my system my hardware monitor MSI Afterburner says its reading 1.4 gigs of video memory usage just to open iclone 6.
My suggestion is to make the requirements more realistic for common users, this will help to avoid people wasting money buying under powered systems and asking for refunds of the software because there systems wont run it. Or being mad that they got the minimum system required specs PC to run iclone 6 and still cant run it ....
Long story short the iclone 6 webpage needs to be adjusted to be more realistic on the specs required to use iclone 6.:D

Kevin, I couldn't agree more. This has been pointed out in the past for previous versions of iClone as well, so we'll hope for the best.

I'm with Quadro 2000 - 1GB Vram, i can run iClone, i can do all. i have AMD 5870 - 1GB Vram and can do all with iClone. iClone can work with 500mb Vram So, first learn how to work with RT renders, then you can say what can and what can't do it

Viktors I have worked with many many renders and 3d software packages :D I imagine you dont work with larger files lots of textures animations and keep your iclone use simple which is great, but for many of us 1 gig just is not realistic and would not work for projects.:)
This project I made takes 7.9 gigs just to open in iclone Even a GTX 1080 8GB OC has trouble with this one. Hard to see unless full screen but this has 15 animated characters moving around, massive amounts of textures all set to 4096 shadows lights on and on...
This project I made takes 5.6 gig just to open
This one 6.1 gigs to just to open
This one takes 5.9 gigs to open
Not trying to be mean rude or anything but 1GB or even 2 GB is not realistic for real world use...for almost any 3d software...:)

Real Time render - 2012, AMD HD 3870 with 500MB Vram, 4K resolution export If you wanna play the game. As i say, Iclone don't need 8Gb Vram, iClone can work with 500MB, but is slow. Yours projects want more Vram, i can tell you why, i know the reason. Hardware depends running time, nothing else. Not everyone is ready to give a lot of money for luxuries. iClone 7 wll work with PBR, It would be more complicated.

tmyusuf (10/17/2016) I have a simple question, Why you do not buy a new PC?
Why ? I can do everything i want, i can do everything you can and i don't play games. I'm with workstation, new is 8000$ or more, no way to buy a new for nothing. It's one of the nice things with iClone - work with almost any hardware.

Hi Kevin,
We will certainly be updating the requirements for iClone 7 and for sure the minimum for 6 could do with a refresh.
However the minimum requirements are just that, the minimum requirements. They do not indicate performance which will obviously be low. You would also need to reduce all your settings to the minimum (hence minimum requirements).
I do think your optimum requirements are a little steep though, especially with regards to video ram, but of course it does depend on what you plan to use iClone for.
When I'm travelling I use a laptop which has 16GB Ram and a GeForce 960M 4GB VRam and this works great with iClone 6. During an average session I will normally have iClone 6, Character Creator and 3DXchange 6 open and don't encounter any problems. Sure I'm not working on an epic production in iClone but still all my projects load fine and I can still have everything on High setting. Even my older laptop with 8GB Ram and 2GB VRam still allowed me to work in iClone providing I kept projects at a manageable level.
It's also important to remember that not everyone has or can afford a high end system. We don't want to frighten off users with over exaggerated system requirements. Providing the user understands they may need to make sacrifices on project and texture sizes, they can still enjoy virtually everything iClone has to offer with a mid range system.

Im not trying to argue with anyone :) I agree with everyone, I know iclone will run with 2GB on low settings quick view, I have done extensive hardware testing with iclone and about 50 other 3d programs. I only brought it up because in the last few weeks I have helped a few people who had used the minimum specs listed on the website to buy hardware. One person was even trying to use the on board graphics listed at 1GB. There is nothing worse then telling someone they just dont have the hardware to do what they want to do, even after they bought a system with the listed minimum specs on the website, only to find out they need more video memory..This has happened a few times now.
Case: One person spent 299 on a used laptop with on board graphics cause it had the 1 gig of video memory required, listed on reallusion website, with the intention to run iclone and in the future get the neuron system and kinetics. There is nothing on the website saying this wont work. So based on whats listed on reallusion website this would work. If a person buys a computer based on what listed say for the direct x version 9 and gets a computer with 512 megs of video memory expecting to run iclone 6 neuron and wants to do VR etc there is nothing that says that 512 is not enough to do that.
In my many years of experience in the 3d world 512MB and 1 Gb of video memory is not realistic for the common user.. I just thought that a few quick adjustments on the specs could help clear up some issues for future users interested in buying reallusion products. I love reallusion products and like everyone, I want people to fully enjoy the reallusion products. But I also know people have expectations and when someone invests their hard earned money they want the best bang for there buck.
Again im not trying to argue with anyone or bitch or anything :D I just felt based on what I have dealt with, with other users a few simple adjustments to the specs would clear up some confusion for future users. Most people dont buy a computer to only run reallusion products but to use a computer for many purposes.
Many computer users do not know anything about hardware, they rely on the sales person at the store, listed specs, friends, family etc to help them out with purchases.
Based on whats listed now on the reallusion website I could buy a 199 laptop with 512MB video memory and run in DX9 and use the neuron and do VR and run all the plug ins etc as advertised.
A few small adjustments to the specs would in the future help to avoid further issues for users that's all I am trying to say :D I would of never said anything had the issue not come up a few times already :D
Its just a suggestion :)

Im not playing any games I am trying to help other users who have had issues with the spec subject. exporting to 4k resolution has nothing to do with the website specs issue.....
I worked for Nvidia for 4 years as a hardware engineer, 3 years at NASA as a technical engineer, 2 years at EA games as a world / level builder, 2 years building and testing SGI systems. I know hardware...:) Thats not the point its about helping users better understand what hardware specs they need for what they want to do with iclone and their future expectations and needs.
Just a suggestion to alter the Hardware specs a little on the website nothing more :)

Kevin raised a good point about unrealistic expectations from some people but i think there is another side to it. My understanding is that most 3d / Animation software will advertise its products minimum spec requirements to a level that the user can operate the basic function of the software and not beyond.
Take the below 3d max16 requirements for example . Website Says a Intel 3 processor would be fine and 4gb ram and in the graphics hardware wizard its lists Intel HD Graphics p4600 as a option. Now with them specs your not going to be running fume FX simulations are high poly renders etc . But you could use a number of other functions and you can learn the principles and work flows required for more complex scenes even if you dont have access to a high spec system.
Like most animation and 3D software you can push its effects and simulations to a level even a TitanX would struggle with. Are you can use it to a level that the minimum spec can run. Minimum requirements are more of a gateway to learning when it comes to 3d software. And my guess is that most people who take the time to learn about animation are educated people who understand the limitations of what they can do with the hardware they have. If you invested over $500 in a VR headset then i am quite sure your aware of what hardware is required to operate that tech and again same with 4K tech.
And from a business point of view you want the gateway to your products to be accessible to many people as possible. My point being that Realusion is no different from any other 3d /Animation company when it comes to advertising its system requirements. Iclone gives more bang for your buck when it comes to hardware then its competition .
3DMAX16
| Hardware |
|---|
| CPU | 64-bit Intel® or AMD® multi-core processor | | Graphics Hardware | Refer to Recommended Hardware wizard for a detailed list of recommended systems and graphics cards | | RAM | 4 GB of RAM (8 GB recommended) | | Disk Space | 6 GB of free disk space for install | | Pointing Device | Three-button mouse

I totally understand everyone's views :D
But people do not to just buy hardware and software to just use the most basic parts of a program. When an artist spends from $299 to $6000+ on software / hardware they are not paying for the use of the most basic feature, they expect to be able to use all its feature and any future addons / features.
Its like buying a car then being told you cant drive it cause you dont have enough engine power, But you can play with the radio and roll down the windows.
You dont see software companies post minimum hardware specs, then say oh by the way this will barley run our software, but with these minimum specs you will be able to run cretin basic feature and do limited work. :)....Its a global marketing issue that has plagued customers for many years.

They many not be quite so blunt, but many companies do post both "minimum" and "recommended" hardware requirements. I've even seen a couple post "power-user" specs, but that's rare.
It doesn't take a consumer long to learn that "minimum" is often a fancy marketing term for "substandard."

A computer for processing animation, video editing and rendering according to their needs. At the same time you have to open the software like iClone 6.5, Character Creator, After Effects, 3d Max or Maya and pothoshop cc 2015 and more software. (Specifications of the computer what is needed) So..... I need the best computer for the project.
I think computer what for ...... ( as your budget )
Reallusion spesification is best not only for iClone 6.5 but for workflow with the other software system.

Hi Kevin,
Our requirements do clearly state an Nvidia or AMD graphics card is required. Most on board graphics are Intel based which we are not supported. A quick check of the system requirements will show that but sadly many users will still buy a new computer without ever checking the requirements.
