Hi everyone, I am pleased to announce that a new Pinhead project has launched today. In order not to spoil the "surprise" I won't say much but would ask you to visit the Pinhead website for details. Once a day or two has passed, we'll post more details in this thread. Please feel free to post any questions you might have. I will just say the Iclone 4 facial pupeteering will come in handy. :P

I am happy to announce a new Pinhead "mini" fun Project which we call "The Pinhead Silent Movie Project". Can you guess what the hook is? This project is just for fun and has no prizes, but will have an on-line vote at the end. This project could be especially fun for those who have Iclone 4, as it will give you a chance to use the pupeteering function on the faces - as faces will really help convey your message. As usual, there will be 2 dividions, Iclone and 2D. The rules are as follows:
1) Create a video starring Pinhead about anything, but it must be “silent” and in the spirit of the “Silent Movie” days. Here is a small example found on youtube. Look up Charlie Chaplin for more examples. Silent films can be dramatic, you are not limited to comedies here. Example here
2) Video must be in Black and White.
3) Use of music is permitted, and we encourage you to use music fitting of that era. Here is a link to some music royalty free. Free Silent Music
4) Video should be a minimum of 1 minute long and no longer than 5 minutes. We suggest 2 minutes as ideal.
4) There are no prizes, just an on line vote for the Golden Pinheads. Vote will cover 4 categories. a) Storyline
Adherence to the theme c) Use of music d) Use of Pinhead
5) Competition ends Late November.
We have provided a corrected Iclone 3 Pinhead for download plus an Iclone 4 version. He had no eyes when I imported him. Also, there are several "tiles" available for download, similar to those used for text back in the day.
There are plenty of samples of silent films on youtube .
I hope you will join in - I am looking forward to just trying to control Pinhead's face in Iclone - I never have done much with the pupeteering feature in Crazy Talk.
Please visit www.pinheadhq.com to see the Video Clip introducing the contest which was by one of our committee members using Crazy Talk and the pupeteering feature.

Great idea for the theme of the new Pinhead project, Alley :D The challenge of no dialogue sounds fun. I would also recommend searching Buster Keaton if anyone interested in going the comedic route or just looking for expressive body language to animate from. Good luck to all!

Hi All Last year's (& 1st Autumn "Mini Project") attracted 23 entries (11.5 2D & 11.5 3D;)). So-far, only 1 2D & 1 3D submitted - A bit disappointing so-far:ermm:. However there are others in the pipeline.:) If you've watched Viking's Clip, all done in just S11, I'm sure that all those who have the time to do -so, can submit an entertaining Clip, using iClone. It would be encouraging for those of us who are Loyal Pinhead Fans & are "Beavering-away" at our respective Clips, if there are others willing to join us. New-comers, more than welcome.:) There's still plenty of time. Once you've done one Pinead Clip, you'll become addicted & want to do another. Thanks:)

Alley, I clicked on the Free Silent Music link expecting to have my first experience ever with a piece of silent music and was disappointed - they were not silent. In fact, they sounded pretty good. :D Would love to join if I can have my pc upgraded soon enough. Otherwise, good luck to all. The submissions so far are great!

Hey, Raven, that's a great clip. I really enjoyed Pinhead's seamless changes in facial expressions. They really do bring his character to life! Very clever Storyline. Maybe you can share the secret of how you got the printer to function. I recall that last year's 2D entry by Sparks, had a printer, printing a pair of paper shorts for Pinhead, that dissolved in the sun. Thanks for Posting - I've got a stinking head cold & that clip cheered me-up.

Thanks everyone :)
Looking forward to seeing more Pinhead videos.
Color - Thanks. The printer with paper is from google warehouse. I used 3dxchange to split the machine and paper, then imported them as 2 separate props. I textured the paper then used the timeline to transform/animate the sheets. :)

Thanks for the "Trade Secret" SP, Raven.:)It's nice to have the PROs sharing their "How did they do that" with us "Trainees" (Well, one of them;))

Another 2D Clip Posted & showing at a Cinema near you;): "The Trials and Tribulations of Wally and Darla" by Kf daddy. Another great Clip by Master 2D Animator Joe. Looks like there may be a sequal or two? So - 2D & 3D Animators "Even Stevens" so-far, with 2 a-piece:)

2 More Clips Posted: "Pinhead In Adventures With Jimmy Toon " By Dulci. "Pinhead & Jimmy Toon go for a trek across the Desert & come across an unexpected friend." I know Pinhead has a penchant for stealing things. Did he steal or borrow the transport from Fred Flinstone, Dulci?;) Great piano accompaniment in sync with the action. That was a clever shot through the back of the vehicle's torn awning. Very enjoyable:) "Pinhead's Mis-Fortune. The Final Chapter" 2D by Kayla. "Pinhead goes to the land of snow to meet & marry his own true love". Poor Pinhead - He's relegated to putting the garbage out. But he gets his revenge. So - It's still Even Stevens, with 3 a-piece, now. BTW - Other's comments can be found in Pinnacle Studio & Video Friends Forum, Pinhead Threads.

Thanks Colour for introducing those clips!!!:) Dulci - great job - loved the Wolf Wall-E characters and poor Jimmy seems like he needs a bathroom break. :P Kayla - loved your clip - make me almost lose my coffee - hehe - was waiting for a toilet seat scene though. :hehe:

2 more clips Posted for your delictation, Ladies & Gentlemen: SHOWDOWN AT CASTLE IVOR By Joe: The final chapter in the misadventures of our intrepid trio, Wally, Darla & Pinky the Wonder Pig. Babe isn't a patch on Pinky;) in this clip. Another great Clip & sequal Joe. Bacon & eggs will never taste the same again!;) THE MOUNTIE By Van Helsing: Professor Krank tries to get rid of Pinhead the Mountie, so he can have Stella all to his self. Great to have a new Pinhead fan submitting a Clip.:) WELL, i haven't got enough superlative words to describe this clip, except to say that IMO, it would be an award winner in any International Film Festival. Many thanks for the time & effort in submitting such an excellent & entertaining Clip. Just goes to show - Pinhead brings-out the best in 2 & 3D Animators;) Squeaking of which, 2 & 3D Animators still level-pegging at now, 4 each & manymore to come - Hopefully;)

Thank you Colour for announcing these clips - :) K F Daddy - your story conclusion was extremely imaginative - hehe - great work on this, I thought you were going to go with the "Ivor choking on his beard" angle, but I loved this ending!!:) Van Helsing....what a great clip. the projector effects worked perfectly. Loved the foiled plots of the villain and the classic railroad scene....and a surprise ending - Excellent job on all aspects.

We have a new clip by allpoint.....Slip'nChase. Wow, so many neat things about this one. Very creative use of the blocks, cute story and characters and you pulled off some complicated animations perfectly with the cane and the nails. :P Loved the rear view mirror and the final "slide into the plate". Great job!!

3 more Clips now showing at a Cinema near you;) RETURN TO BLACK AND WHITE CASTLE: By JUstAViking. "Pinhead makes a more horrifying, deeply disturbing recovery".:exclamationmark: PINHEAD'S FISHING EXPEDITION: By RogRead. "Pinhead goes fishing, but ends-up much further away than expected";) PINHEAD'S MISS JUDGEMENT: By Colour (That's me;)). "Pinhead decides to rescue a damsel apparently in distress" (I don't think the saying "Best 'til last applies here", I'm afraid:ermm: ). So - At this stage, 2D & 3Ders level-pegging at 6 clips each. Any "Short Heads" or "Long Necks " from both camps, coming-up from the rear?

Thanks Colour. Very creative clips everyone. :) Regarding the Black & White Castle clip - the lady portrayed is Kayla and she was in my video too - you'd have to know the history of my video group but Kayla is a lovely woman who we all adore and is a real good sport. She was one of the original Pinhead committee members. Pinhead Fishing - very cute story and well done by Rog who has a seriously amazing imagination and who would prob have a blast with Iclone if I could get him hooked - :Whistling: Colour....great job on your Iclone clip - glad to see Pinhead can defend himself and wasn't the "looser" for once. :D

Another 2D Clip Posted: PINHEAD'S FISHING EXPEDITION (The sequel) By Roger Read: "Can Pinhead escape his punishment? You bet he can, but for how long?". One more 2D Clip in the pipeline that I know of. I believe the Committee have confirmed that the cut-off for submissiions is the end of the month. So hopefully some surprise entries from both camps still to come? I too, thoroughly enjoyed Peter Martin's Clip. Dr Hedpin's Goons reminded me of a Keystone Cops car chase. Maybe that was intentional?

Plaudits to Laura, in Video Friends Forum. My Abacus tells me that 2D Editors now lead by a "Long neck", with 8 Clips to 3D Editors 6. Any 3D stragglers bringing-up in the rear?

Anyone can vote. So, now's the time to Download the Clips & make your selections. Well, I've voted. How about everyone-else? It really amazes me what 2D & 3D Animators can accomplish single-handed with a Home PC. Equal to & in many cases, better than the mainstream teams of TV Pros, with their sophistcated equipment. Thanks to all, for the great entertainment & laughs.:D

So, if you haven't voted yet, please find the time if you can, to support those who've submitted clips for the enjoyment of all.

Well, the Award Ceremony is completed and we hope to air it tonight. There was major blood, sweat and tears put into this one, so I hope you all enjoy it. I couldn't have done it without the help of my fellow committee member Joe, who spent 4 hours on skype teaching me about masks and screening. So, thank you so much Joe!!!! As an aside, Joe has recently had his arm twisted real hard to join us in the Iclone world.
He's a very creative and knowledgeable guy, so I think we can look forward to some creative productions in the future. :)

Alley, It was a post by you under iClone ->Installation of AP & Content -> Version iClone 4.1125.1 does not render popVideos. Obviously that post was a response to Peter's post. Somehow it gave me the impression that the award show would be post somewhere under iClone forum.

Copy of Althea's Post in CoolClones Forum.Well I left this for a few days, but now that most people have watched the awards, I just wanted to personally congratulate Allpoint, Raven2Angel and our top winner, Van Helsing for their wonderful Iclone clips. They were all very creative and well done. All the entries were great, even the non-winners (me -kidding). And thanks to Wolfzone for including us in one of his promos. If you didn't see it, it can be viewed HERE We are planning a new project. We have had several ongoing ideas which include, 1) Pinhead doing a commercial for a favorite product; 2) Pinhead in the animal kingdom (due to the large of assortment animals now available); 3) Pinhead involved in a sport; 4) Pinhead in a scene from a famos movie (sound familiar?) However, one of our committee members (Joe) has come up with a really interesting idea. It's not final, and I can't tell you what it is yet, but I wanted to open it up for discussion on this forum in case any of you have any interesting ideas. Remember is has to be something quite doable in the world of 2D as well, which is where Pinhead has his roots. We have many followers who are not ready to leap into Iclone. (sad but true ). But, Pinhead is open to all softwares, so we are glad to have such variety. Thanks again to all our participants.
