Hi Friends... Here is my dilemma. Maybe you can help.
"all mapped bones must be under the hip bone"

I bought the Graciana Model and some hair and clothing from the Daz Market. It is a Genesis 3 model. After mapping the bones in 3deschange I got a green light but the Convert Button is greyed out and I get a warning. "all mapped bones must be under the hip bone" .

I went back and tried parenting the clothing and hair under the hip. But after export and bone mapping in 3dexchange I still get the same error.
I then tried exporting her naked and got the same error.
All mapped bones must be under the hip bone.
lCollar, rCollar, head,lHand,...

 Thanks, Nadia

The warning lists all the body parts.

ignore any bones for now that are not large bones.

Start with the hip and then do all the larger bones only.  Ignore small extra bones 3dexchange doesnt care about them.
then map the leg bones (two bones upper and lower.. make sure they are below the hip.
then do the left and right arm again two bones forearm and upper arm (whatever they are called the two main bones on the arm)
then do the spine bones only two of them spine1 and spine 2 to start (once you figure it out you can fill in the green bones but they are not the ulitimate minimum that 3dexchange wants)

you just need to figure out the heirarchy inside 3dexchange.

ignore anything with "twist" in front of it and anything that is not obviously a main bone.
once you get those done try the animations

Ok, I fixed it by paying careful attention to the labeled parts in the Scene Tree. The Hip Bone is the tiny one and the pelvis is the big v shaped one. Thanks for the help!

Now I am on to finding out why the vise me didn't apply when I dragged the file to the face before export. It added points to the time line but there was no lip movement when I hit play or scrubbed the timeline.

I think the facial movement and viseme didn't work is because I am trying to export a Genesis 3 character out of Daz into iClone . I think Iclone only has a .duf file for Genesis 2 characters.

See... this is the file that iClone says to drag to the face of the Daz character: Genesis2_Female_iCloneFaceKey.duf

I am reading on the internet that the Genesis 3 characters are somehow very different than the Genesis 2 characters because they don't use morphs for facial movement, they have bones instead.

So either I will have to stick to Genesis 2 Daz characters or just make my own characters in iClone using the Character creator. Itr's a shame because I really like the skin of the Genesis 3 characters.

I have brought several DAZ Genesis 3 avatars into iClone via 3DX.

I also tried the Genesis and Genesis 2 iClone .duf files just to see if they would take to the Genesis 3 but neither do.  Unfortunately you'll have to set each facial movement and viseme by hand one frame at a time, it's time consuming but the only way to get them to work in 3DX, I assume you already know how to do this.  Once exported to fbx and imported into 3DX then select "convert to non-standard",  this is how I do things; I first select the right toe bone in the chart, then click on the bone's name in the list, then the right foot and it's name in the list and so on for both legs, hip, chest, etc.  Some of the bones names are not as clearly labeled such as the thigh, it's named "rThigh Bend" and the right leg is "rShin" for example.  If you need more detail I could do a video while setting one up if you'd like. :)
