Just an interesting tutorial on the topic. I was intrigued by the free model of the usb thumb drive opening and closing.
Hope it helps someone.

Hi there,

the "power" of the Shape Keys is to create morph.
If I need to just slide or rotate a door, I can easily do in iClone... no need to use the shape keys.
The problem is that 3DXchange does not read them, but.... we can use the Dummy Bone prop (Facial Pipeline Character pack) to achieve the same result :)
I am preparing a tutorial about this... probably ready by end of this week.

Cheers

One benefit of showing my lack of knowledge is that someone always comes to the rescue and provides a new lesson, or full tutorial, on the subject so that everyone learns something new. Thanks.

I'm surprised Blender doesn't have "Advanced" functionality, like Maya and Max.
Maya - "Event Driven"... move one object... control multiple objects... (PRS) Position, Rotation, Scale.
Max - "Reaction Manager".... the same.

Nevertheless, not bad for FREE!

Yeah, not bad for free, especially as Blender does indeed have that feature, it's called "Drivers" in Blender - and it's pretty damn awesome!

Click for a demonstration, lots of videos about it :
