Stickman / Pivot in iClone

My next project is going to be using stickman figures in iClone 6.  I usually create them in the classic program Pivot where they come out as animated GIFs on greenscreen. I can always put these into iClone scenes projected on planes, but it would be fun to also create some animated stickman as avatars with just a slight, but nevertheless 3d depth sort of like Gingerbread men. But I want to keep them just as simple as Pivot stickmen with the same joint structure. I would appreciate any ideas from the community as to how to go about this.

Thank you

I made some inside DAZ a few years back... This is them inside iClone5, but they still work as Non-Standard Avatars.  They also accept accessories and use standard motions.  They use Avatars Toolkit accessories I made for them also... But any accessories could be used on them from the Avatar Toolkit package.

This is an Animated GIF, but I have no knowledge whether the forum can display them.  Directly from iClone5 as a 5fps rendering to GIF.

RL already has a stick figure you could use. Available with and without a head. It's free for all users.

Thanks, those are really cute, but I am more into the style of stickman produced by Pivot as shown here with joints. Pivot Stickfigure Animator icon

Sorry, but i am confused as to how to download that. I can follow your link and yes I am a member but I cant seem to figure out how to get to that pack.

Guess I should of tried downloading it.

The other place these things show up is in the "Bonus" for iClone. You need to login to your member account and click on the "Bonus" link for iClone. Last time I did it was with version 5. Hopefully they still have that available for new 6 users as well.

If not, I would ask tech support about it. It'd be great if they let us just share the bonus content stuff. I don't know what their policy is on that.

I did find some free avatars made with clonebone in the Marketplace, just in case.

It would be nice for new users if RL made useful bonus content available. Maybe as a freebies in the MarketPlace.

Thanks for the suggestions, rampa and animagic. I think the boneclone would work nicely if I could get a hold of it. I will send RL a note.

Do you have 3DXchange Pro? If you do, you can build a stick figure out of iClone primitives, merge it, and then convert it to an avatar in 3DXchange. You just need 15 basic segments. If you don't have it, build the figure you want and PM it to me, and I'll convert it for you.

See this page.

And this video.

that's extremely nice of you. I will put together something. I only have the non-pro version of 3DXchange

That's really cool, budbundy.Reminds me a little of Nightmare Before Christmas. The horizon is a perfect setting. Is it the perspective that makes the right leg seem longer or...? I've downloaded your example to look at after this mandatory no-work-spend-time-with-family day! Rampa is making a figure in 3dXchange. So I am starting to build an arsenal.

Of course I just did a really dumb thing. I built it in iClone 6, but only have 3DXchange 5 for converting. Doh! 3DX5 will not open iClone 6. I'll have to do it as a CloneBone avatar instead of a converted one. That may throw off the dimensions a little.

I did find a good way to have the red dots visible. It'll be another day or so, now. Have to do some converting and download CloneBone. Sorry.

On the plus side, you'll then have the CloneBone skeleton as the base of the stick man.

this was a avatar running in place,a sky and a plane, a 15mm camera linked to a dummy rotating around it, slightly dutch angled.

My final version of Pivot Man, or Dot Man, or whatever you want to call it.

One piece mesh, all materials such as the Base and Dots use separate maps for the bulk of each.

@Mindprints

I sent you a download link for mine yesterday. Hope you got it, and that it meets your needs. Ended up not using Clonebone. It was not really suitable for this particular figure because of the need for no hips.

Just to show off a little, here is a video demo. The feet dots are slightly out of alignment, but are accessories, and can be adjusted.

Just downloaded. Looking good. Thanks a million, rampa.
