I'm slowly getting the hang of Character Creator. One of the best features of the program is the Dynamic Appearance Editor. The Appearance Editor is powered by Substance. Is there an option to edit the "Substance" file that the Editor uses?

If you want to edit the Substance file itself, you'd need Substance Designer by Allegorithmic.

I have the latest version of Substance Designer. Where would I find the substance file to edit?

Ah, good question. I'm away from my iClone computer for the day, so we'll need someone else to chime in with that answer.

At the moment, and most likely for the unforeseeable future, there is no way of editing the Substances used in CC. This was mentioned somewhere by one of the (RL) types some time ago.

Ah, yes, I'll bet they're distributed as non-editable Substance "archive" (.sbsar) files. But can you at least use your own if you want something completely different?

Not even as a .sbsar file. I looked. There is a "Substance " folder in the installed iClone Character Creator template dirctory, but those are in .ccTexture format. And no, there doesn't seem to be a way for me to use my own Substance.

If you want to use similar Substances, the ones in Fuse are available as SBSAR's.
If you have the "Essentials" pack for CC, it gives you access to many (maybe all) the input channels that the CC Substances use.
