Hi I see Iclone as a potential tool to create VR environments, not so much for games but previz or for immersive experiences. Are there any plans to incorporate FPV using a VR viewpoint? With full head tracking I don't see it as a huge challenge for the technical team, if they can do it in Unity & Unreal game engines then then principles state that it should be quite feasible. This functionality would make iClone enter new realms of possibility !! Imagine being able to showcase an environment, a museum walk through, entering Chernobyl's reactor core, standing on a boat in ragings seas .. being able to look around you. Doesn't have to be an interactive system (A La Unity style) but simply what IClone is now .. a Pre Visual encounter immersed right into the scene. MAKE IT HAPPEN PLEASE !! ;-) Thanks Alan

I asked about that a while ago, not specific brand requests but it would be a great idea to bring director mode back as VR director or VR experience from within a playing scene or whatever. I'm not getting into specifics here but RL should see they are lined up to become the defacto AR/VR immersive environment creation tool if I have anything left to say about it;) interactivity with Perception Neuron using scripting and an hmd running in realtime should be investigated, I know of such an hmd configuration I own, RL should consider this.:w00t::w00t::w00t:

Yes I think I read your post. Seems to me the way to go .. if game engines are in on it .. why not for such a previz tool as IC. I'm having to go the learning curve of Unreal/Unity to try and implement my VR concept, but would much prefer to be able to simply view my scenes as a VR spectator in IC rather than the complexity and coding of a gaming engine. This allows the creative people to conceptualise without the headaches and skill required for game development.

We collect and consider all wishful feature requests but you won't always get a personal reply unless there anything to update.
Thanks for the feedback. :)

I've mentioned the idea long ago that IC was not too far from being a game engine itself but I now realize that it could be a simple engine just for people to move around like in a game with wasp and controller support to see things from a gamer's perspective before exporting everything to a full featured/robust game engine.

Having recently played around with some simple VR hardware such as google cardboard I think there is great opportunity to use IClone in this field. Would be very cool to be able to create VR movies or experiences such as the ones you can find in the app stores.

Same here, I am using Unity to create some 360 video but Iclone would be better and faster for it. No need for exporting charactors etc which is all time consuming and distracts you from the story creation. I did a short Christmas one in Unity and a modified jimmy toon! Was going to have some talking but kept it simple fly through. You need to use Chrome or a browser that supports 360 video in Youtube: 360 video link here.

RL should definately integrate VR output into iClone. It's a no brainer.
I don't miss Director Mode, but I do miss FLY/WALK mode.

Can't believe RL has not even ventured into supporting VR using Vive, Oculus etc. yet. ALL game engines are supporting this and I personally develop VR solutions in Unity. If iClone had this support I see it as a major potential for VR storytelling. The 360 option is OK but has no real use.
REAL VR is what we need! don't see what the major challenge is, just need the camera API's integrating. Your miles behind on a what is becoming a HUGE topic.

I just realized this and its painful. I had to turn down a client because i thouht there would be no way iclone couldn't support the rift or vive. and wow I am very sadened.

These are the things I'm doing as a combination of using IClone Then Unity + HTC Vive, IClone aint moving their ass so I went to learn Unity instead. I actually use it for more work these days, but I'll give IC credit it helps ... but there's some key support areas I dont think they even pay much attention to. The product is great but could be so much greater but some of the ignorant thought processes of its design just irritate me when using it. For me iClone is a love hate relationship haha :-) Web link to my work .. also on youtube and facebook .. so iClone I love ya .. but at times I wanna choke ya

I've been wondering the same thing. Just bought the Quest 2 and eager to create content.
