Work in Progress - Part I

The team behind the legendary CrazyTalk once again breaks the 2D mold by using your photos to forge a new world of 3D creativity. This new CrazyTalk iteration brings a trove of updated features that allow anyone to create highly detailed head figures from either front or side profile images, effectively advancing the capabilities of realistic 3D head generation with natural head contouring, detailed texture mapping, and instant accessory matching - all tied up in a cross-tool, cross-platform integration.

Well that is the missing link. Are there going to be any upgrade options from CT7 Pro? I guess the problem there would be there was no CT7 Pipeline and that is what I would get. I already bought about all of the content I want/need at the moment and it gets harder for me to find stuff to buy from the content store (even with a coupon), that I can use. Now if they changed the rules to the content store OR the marketplace, that would open up the possibilities.
Thanks,
TS

I feel we need some more information as there was going to be a face-photo-fitting option for iClone 6 as well. So it would be a bit sad if the only way to get to that is through CrazyTalk 8 Pipeline. I really like the face-fitting features, but I want to see that functionality for iClone 6 (as promised at some point) without an extra investment.

And, I'm in the same boat, I have about all the content there is to have. It would therefore be good to know also about CrazyTalk 7 upgrade prices, preferably before December 6.

I have never used the photo stuff but I can think of other ways to use this cartoonwise anyhow I am intrigued and am curious to see where this is going for the animator package as well.  I like the animator but some of its contraints .. irritate me but if this is going to have some similar abilities to the face program I can think of a million ways to use this for 3d cartoon that are created from 2d content that I draw.   Some interesting art choices come to mind so got to watch this to see how it evolves :)

Hi TS,

There will be the usual upgrade options once CrazyTalk 8 is released. As a CrazyTalk 7 Pro user, you will be able to upgrade for a discounted price.

Regarding  content, you can purchase DA Points for the Marketplace and this will count towards your accumulative content total. $199+ will get you CrazyTalk 8 Pro FREE and $249+ will get you CrazyTalk 8 Pipeline FREE. Plus you won't need to spend the points before the December 6th and can hold on to them until you need something. :)

I do understand the disappointment. Currently the future plan involves an ecosystem where all our products are interlinked and you can transfer content between them. This means that you will need the "Head Creator" that is part of CrazyTalk 8 Pipeline to be able to transfer photo mapped heads, morphs and textures to iClone 6. Unfortunately this won't be built into iClone 6.

Very interesting. But I'll wait for the part 2 WIP because If I make a crosscheck with an old Daz Realtimer post thread , I have the feeling that Crazytalk will be the new standalone
facial animation for Iclone. If it will , I'll buy the pipeline version right now. :D

The first thing I thought after seeing the demonstration was... will I be able to export this 3d head into Iclone? If that will be possible then I can see myself making the investment and all the things I would be able to do with it. This appears at a time when I am getting request from clients to use their faces on the 3d characters I create for them however, they are not as interested in 2d animation as they are 3d. If I find that I am unable to export and use these models in Iclone then... nice feature but as mentioned in previous comments,  I have about all the content and software I need at this point and can do the work in Iclone as I have done in the past. Pretty cool though.

Peter,
Thanks for the info. Just to be clear though, as a CT7 Pro user, I will be able to upgrade to the "Pipeline" version of CT8 correct? The DA points option is great too as I can easily find stuff I want/need from there. I just want to know all my options because I believe there is also going to be a Character Creator Pipeline coming soon??

So even iClone 6 "Pipeline" isn't enough?
Even that would be bad enough.  But that even an expensive iC6/3DXchange/Pipeline package doesn't recoup our lost functionality, man, that's a bad call.

I suggest it be rolled into Character Creator (which also "is not part of" iClone 6).
(Even if it also resides in "Head Creator.")

G6. The heads will be compatible with your CC characters and morphs.

just to be sure:
Do i need the pipeline version of Iclone 6 to import heads made in/from CT 8 pipeline or is it enough with my pro version of Iclone?

iClone 6 Pro should do the job, there is no Pipeline version of iClone.

I feel like I'm complaining all the time right now (I apologise for that) but it would surely benefit customer's and Reallusion itself if the head creator was made part of the character creator. I think far more people would be willing to pay for a reasonably priced upgrade to Character creator than will be prepared to pay $250 for a program they do not want.

I know we have the time limited content/software deals to get CT8 free but the problem with these is that not everyone has a spare $250 burning a hole in their pocket.

I would have also thought that any future standalone pipeline version of Charactor Creator would need to have the head creator included anyway as potential customers who are using this to build assets for external software are not going to be willing to buy CT8 too.

Of course, do not know what I was thinking ?? The versiontalk and thread reading makes an old man dizzy:blush::blush:
Thank you Gerry

You are correct, of course Sw00000p in that it can be done for free - 3d test has demonstrated an excellent technique in his tutorial video featured on Reallusion TV (!) that has been alluded to before:

Do I go invest in Crazy Talk 8 or wait to see what improvements \ upgrades Animator 2 and or IClone 6 will have. Since I already have both. If Crazy Talk 8 is the only software that gives me the photo-real capability and neither Iclone or Animator give me that capability, going forward show I drop Iclone and Animator since the expense for Crazy 8 will be less. I am talking about future upgrades. Thanks in advance

It depends on what you want to do. For full-body animation you will need either CTA (for 2D) or iClone (3D). If you only do 2D animation, you will not need the Head Creator, but for iClone you would if you want to create heads based on photos.

The Head Creator is introduced in CTA 8, but is considered a separate module that will be available on its own in a future update. Peter mentioned that if you don't want CTA 8, you can wait for the separate Head Creator to be available (some time in 2016), which you can then use with iClone.

EDIT: I wanted to add that we really need to see the second work-in-progress video in order to know what else is in CrazyTalk 8.

Hi Peter , I know you will be very discreet with info but do you have an idea of when the CT8 WIP part 2 will be out ?
Than you Peter
By animatedbeing - 10 Years Ago
I don't need $250 worth of content. Since I have 3DExchange and a lot of Poser, Daz3d, and iClone content. What will the upgrade prices be for existing owners of CrazyTalk 7 Pro or the interactive plug-in bundle? For customers that buy CrazyTalk 7 pro now, will there be an option to upgrade from CrazyTalk pro 8 to the pipeline version for $50?

The release offers and upgrade pricing has not been finalised yet but you can expect member/upgrade prices to be in line with normal upgrade discounts. Those who purchase CrazyTalk 7 Pro will receive CrazyTalk 8 Pro but can upgrade to Pipeline if they wish. The price for the upgrade will be announced nearer release time in December.

Hi All!

I am fairly new to CrazyTalk but currently my team is in the process of needing the CrazyTalk interactive plugin for the following project we are doing. I had checked upon CrazyTalk 7 Pro interactive plugin which converts .ct7project files to unity. However, about the time we were going to buy the following product we found that Crazytalk 7 PRO is not available and that we had to reconsider the option of buying CrazyTalk 8. My question is this, since I am new to this area and that I have never used to following product can anyone suggest what I should consider buying ? My main focus is the need to export my .ctprojects into unity. Thanks for the help :)

Have you contacted Reallusion with your question????

By xuereb.brenda - 9 Years Ago
Yes I have sent to the developers and to the education section of Reallusion via email over 11 days ago to no reply. All i did was buy the Crazytalk animator 2 as it seems to serve what i need out of crazytalk in the first place. We will see later with regards to it.

Thanks a lot for your help ! :)

Hi All,

I need to ask as I have been searching through and also found an online course relating on how to customize a sprites face, however I need to have a custom face without the body to animate. Do you think this is possible ? I have created the custom face but was not able to save it. I would appreciate if one would guide me through it as I need to close this part of the project by end of this week.

Thanks,
B

Are you using CrazyTalk 8 or CrazyTalk Animator 2?

If you are using CrazyTalk Animator 2 Pro then you do not need the Pipeline version to create a custom head. In CTA2 you can create a head using either sprites or from a 2D photo in the same way as CrazyTalk 8 supports 2D head creation.

Character Creator will allow you to export 3D characters in FBX format which could be used in Unity. You will also need 3DXchange 6 Pipeline to complete this workflow.

CrazyTalk Animator 2 or CrazyTalk 8 do not export directly to Unity.

Thanks for your help peter.

As part of my school internship, I need to create an android application in which my character will interact with the user. Whilst I was searching, the 'crazytalk' platform showed an export capabaility to Unity which was going to act as a bridge to use with android studio to which I would construct my entire application.

Now that I cannot export to unity, I am finding myself struggling to continue, do you have any recommendations for me please?

Thanks

Unfortunately the CrazyTalk > Unity pipeline only worked for CrazyTalk 7. CrazyTalk 8 does not support this pipeline which we have now discontinued. In our current range of products, only iClone 6 offers a Unity pipeline by using 3DXchange 6 Pipeline.

An alternative option may be to use software like Clickteam Fusion which offers Android support.
