To get rid of the mid-tones try sliding your Toon Shader Gradients closer or towards one side of the slider, or making them similar in shade... there are two under the Visual Tab.
Increase your Shadow pixels to 4096x4096 and adjust your quality as needed. Change your light angle.

Is there any way to get rid of the "mid-tone" in the toon shader? The example above (ignore the b.g.) is a character that does not receive shadows. All the character shadows are toon-shader generated. Unfortunately I cannot get rid of they annoying (and completely useless) grey mid-tone that surrounds the real shadow -- it won't dial down, and I can't switch it off. Any suggestions?
Also, this character is high poly and auto-smoothed, yet the shadows are bumpy and angular. Any way to improve this? Using real shadows doesn't work because it conflicts with the toon shadow. :-(
Thanks in advance!
