One Month of Windows 10 and Not 1 Day of iClone 6 / 6.2 Compatability -- What Gives?

Well, it's now been more than a full month since I upgraded to Windows 10 and iClone 6 or 6.2 just flat out fails to run on it. I mean it won't even start.

No problems with iClone 5.5 or 3DXchange 6.2 they run fine / no issues.

The problem was said to be related to my video card, however iClone 6 ran fine and consistently on Windows 7 / no issues with the same GTX DirectX 11.2 compatible card, and the requested iC log test had no indicator of a graphics card 'fail' or issue. This Win10 non-compatible issue has effectively turned my newly paid-for iClone 6 / 6.2 'upgrade' into a boat anchor, rendering it incapable of doing any iC6-related work for customers or my own projects. Tech support would be faster if done by Morse code -- vs. every few days or so getting a partial / potential 'thread' non-solution, and then getting a msg (now a week old) saying we'll contact you when we have a solution. I have requested as a 'solution' approach (more than once, in the 'thread') that a screen-share session (e.g., with TeamViewer / LogMeIn) could be a more effective approach--when problems encountered like this are more advanced--but these suggestions have been ignored, and the snail-pace 'thread' approach has apparently ceased. I feel like I have been hung out to dry.

Sorry you're having issues, but I'm on Windows 10 on two different machines, both with iClone and have zero issues.  Works beautifully...

Yes, I would expect Windows 10 compatibility to be the norm vs. the exception. Apparently, there are at least some Win10 configurations that are causing iC 6 / 6.2 to fail to launch even when the same PC-hardware has run iC 6 fine and consistently under Win7.

Unfortunately as I explained to you via Support the problem is that certain Nvidia 500 series graphics cards are not fully compatible with iClone 6 in DirectX 11 mode. The reason for this is still not clear. Right now we sadly do not have a solution to this problem despite extensive testing, however we are continuing to try and find a solution.

To be clear the issue is not with Windows 10 as we have others using Windows 7 or Windows 8 who have the same problem. All have Nvidia 500 series cards. For now the only option is to use DirectX 9 mode for iClone 6 or possibly consider an upgrade of your graphic card to a more recent series like the Nvidia GTX 960.

I'm sorry I can't bring you better news.

It's like mine and thousands, but not millions, of other Windows 10 upgraders who have lost all access to WiFi.
So sad, too bad, MS just passes the blame to someone else such as Reallusion or the manufacturer of my WiFi adapter.

I was faced with the same problem. Not able to run iClone v6.21 PRO and iClone CharacterCreator v1.21 under Windows 10. iClone 3DXchange v6.21 Pipeline works normally.

I wrote to support, but after reading the forum I realized that I most likely will not beable to help. Then I began to look for a solution myself.

I must say that under Windows 7 the problem remains.

I wanted to buy another video card, but its price is 500 dollars forced me to be creative. I live in Russia, and in our country there is an opinion that many large corporations are releasing updates to their products to gradually reduce their performance and functionality. This encourages the user to purchase more fresh devices.

So I found a website where an archive of Nvidia drivers. Here's his address:

The site is in Russian, but read there is nothing. The names and versions of drivers, no one translates into another language. ))) However, you can always find on the Internet a lot of other sites that archive drivers.

I can say  – with driver version 355.98 iClone 6 already does not run. But, if you install the 340.52 driver, iClone starts up and works fine. Just don't update it. Maybe with your hardware the program will start to work on later version. You can experiment, and I'm a little tired and don't want. ))

I can say that this only applies to Nvidia video driver. The other driver in the Nvidia installer package (such as HD Audio and 3D Vision) may be later.

Although, I can't claim that all the fault of Nvidia. Maybe that Reallusion may not work correctly with the new Nvidia drivers. I think the truth we will never know.))) However, a solution has been found. We can rejoice!

You can download any Nvidia driver - including legacy ones, directly from the "Drivers" link at www.nvida.com. Not only that, but the site is available in many languages.

Shar15's "advice" doesn't make sense at all. The latest NVidia driver I installed (385.87) works fine and even fixes a long-standing bug. There is actually a newer driver, but I haven't tried it. If you need to use an older driver, go with Gerry's suggestion.

The one peculiarity regarding Windows 10 that I've read about is that it would not let you install drivers manually, which did mess up NVidia cards. That may have been resolved in the interim.
