So far, very good what you can do creating characters.

What about applying props to characters?
What about apply props to characters as accessories?
What about applying props from Daz studio to characters?

If I want to apply a body armor vest, gun belt, prop hair it would probably be best to set within 3dxchange, rather than Iclone if I want the character to keep those items.

I suspect applying props, textures, etc would be best applied in 3dxchange so the changes will stay with the character.  I do this when importing from Daz Studio.
I can apply the items in Iclone, but they have to be reapplied whenever I use them.

Just for fun... I exported the Micah hair from Daz3d studio onto the new CC male character.

Looks like we may not be married to a bunch of new hair content, if we have some from other sources.

This should be good news for Daz users.  I have a lot of daz hair, and there are some super quality choices available.

There are often super sale prices on hair in the daz shop frequently.

I exported this hair using OBJ format into 3dxchange 6. then saved as prop in Iclone.

I loaded the hair into Daz3d and moved it to the floor (gizmo position) in 3dxchange.   This helps when you apply to the character - just a quick move up to the head.

If you notice from the attached IClone image the left box shows the file, and the right box shows where it attached properly.

One attachment shows hair is attached to character head and saved as accessory to the Basic Male.

Second attachment shows hair is attached to character and saved as avatar character

I loaded the Basic male character into the CC application removed the basic male hair, then exported hairless character to Iclone from CC.

I didn't try passing through 3dxchange, which I think would have worked as well.

I will try importing some other prop items from Daz3d that are body fit items.

This is a short hair, but I think weight map for dynamic hair should also work..

As far as I know, you can pull props into CC but you can always outfit your characters in iClone. When you create clothing in CC (i.e. modify the provided CC bases with your desired settings) you can save it as CCCloth instead of saving the whole Avatar. These clothes then become available in iClone (in the Avatar | Parts section). This allows you to dress and re-dress your CC character in iClone. In this process, as was always the case, you can add any accessory, prop, etc.

Personally, I think this is the better way to do it because you don't need to keep shooting the character back to CC and then back to iClone to re-dress the character. The other reason why applying stuff in iClone is better is that some of the clothing, accessories or props will not show up in CC. For example, you may be able to drag props into CC but you won't know they are available by looking at CC. As such I tend to create CC nude characters. Create any types of outfits that use the CC bases but then I dress everything in iClone.

EDIT: Obviously when you are working in iClone, if you have 3DXchange then any DAZ props can be exported out of DAZ and imported into iClone using 3DXchange. Use 3DXchange to convert the DAZ props to iClone props and then you can use them with any iClone or CC character. I would strongly recommend against baking them into your character because then you limit their use. A CC character with a iProp gun prop can drop that gun and run away. If the gun is baked into the mesh of the CC character this is much harder to achieve. The only props that you would want to bake into the mesh are those that need to bend with the character. For example, a vest would need to be baked into the character as clothing so that when the character bends over the vest also bends. A rifle, on the other hand, would be better as a individual iProp since it does not need to bend with the character and is more versitile as a individual prop (e.g. can be dropped, etc).
