A new phoneme-pairing based lip-sync mechanism has been developed for the new Character Creator avatars. These brand-new viseme settings, for highly accurate lip shapes, have over 200 phoneme shapes incorporated into their lip-syncing options.

You can now apply different Smooth or Strength settings to Jaw, Lips and Tongue; creating more sophisticated talking behaviors that better replicate authentic moods and personalities when talking. Reduced lip keyframes are also auto-generate for easier and more efficient editing.

To find the new lip-sync options simply:
  1. Open up the Timeline panel (F3), click the down arrow icon beside your character and enable the viseme track.
  2. Right-click the viseme track and select lip-sync options to open up the Option panel.
  3. All three new options will be found inside.
Tutorial video on how to use the new lip-sync features:

  • Reduced lip keys for more efficient editing.
  • Smooth option for blending mouth shapes for more natural mouth shape transitions.
  • Clip strength to convey more emotional behaviors.
  • Select “parts” to tweak settings for individual mouth parts.

Does this also work with DAZ Genesis characters?
