I do believe for us to move into a more professional arena we need, natural hair and body movements in our characters/avatars.

However I do feel that this would open to abuse and wonder if this would be the stumbling box to enabling us to have more lifelike animation?

By ek - 18 Years Ago
Hey... Newbie here.

I just have to point out how stupid it would be to hinder the rest of us from getting more realistic animation simply because some people might use them for pornographic purposes. If I want a fat guy walking around with his belly wobbling, I should be able to do so, dammit! ;)

Anyway, that's my two cents...

I must say that I am very much pro the idea of more realistic and less plastic bodies. Though for me, the main issue is with hair.

Poor Jane must have to spend a bomb each week in hair lacquer products because no matter what you have her do it always stays in place. For me that is perhaps one of the biggest illusion breakers
By ContentDude - 18 Years Ago
Hey guys, the new iClone3 will allow Jane to have a flixie hair. She will difinitely look much better especially when she dance or move around.:P

I totally agree to more realistic nudity. DAZ 3D studio , Poser...are doing well and it's great! As for the "perverse" You can not stop doing what they want with the content. That's life!

Realistic movement is not the same as detailed genitalia! (at least last time I checked :D). I think RL can move toward the middle ground without providing a playground for weird stuff. Anyway, if someone were focussed enough, the tools are there to change the avatars and add 'bits' so let's get over it and strike a decent compromise before someone else in the market does and makes our time and money investment in RL products redundant.

Alright:exclamationmark: Bring on the animation principal - Secondary Motion:D

a nude skin & mesh/cloth would be good - wouldn't expect intricate anatomy details, but sometimes a bit of nudity is required! Would be good to have the option.

agreed - all for arts sake *cough* *cough*

I don't know if you have seen them but there are already nude meshes and textures available in the form of the Natural Human Base Pack. There is also free G1 nude figures available from your Premium Members page.

ok thanks, yeah that's fairly much what I was thinking.
might wait until I get my hands on iClone 3 first though, as probably no point in spending that sort of money on G2 characters when the new G3 characters are on their way

Pleased to see that not too many people go for the "we don't want to encourage pervs" option. You can't base the capabilities of an artistic product on whether people will use it for things you consider right.

Are we going to ban camera's to stop the Pornography trade? How about paint and brushes because nudes are a common artistic theme and some artists do stuff you would consider to be "pornography"?

If anything, a system that could simulate anything a "perv" wanted to display would protect live models from being used in things they're not comfortable with. Personally, I would question the motives of anyone who tried to stop such a system. Either they want to impose their "moral" beliefs on others or they can see that if too many people can create whatever level of "pornography" they want with animation it would reduce profits for the Porn Industry.

I see a nude G3 figure is one of the bonus items. I'll be interested to see how realistic it looks. Not sure I'm worried about "jiggle" but I always prefer characters in comics or animation to be closer to photo real than cartoon.

the nude G3 figure is good, more 'nude' than the G2.
I'm satisfied with the level of detail, enough for my requirements

Maybe in iClone 4, they can add sizing of male genetals.... Like they do for the women's breast....
By dingoman - 17 Years Ago
I have been wanting to work on a Heavy Metal (old classic French magazine style) fantasy series for some time. IClone 3 Pro appealed to me since I found it easy to use. I bought 3 of the nude characters from the content store and have finally learned how to customize their faces. Recently Reallusion sent me the 3 "non draped" avatars since I don't have $100 to spend on the Human Realism Pack of 9 characters. I was told that these were the "texture packs" for the 3 avatars but all I got were the same 3 avatars, "undraped" and no gentiala.

I did notice that if you spend $100 for all 9 you get a "bonus" texture pack. My question is anyone who has that "bonus texture pack" is this: what ARE the textures? Is the gentilia in that bonus pack?

I'm no "artist" and I'm certainly not interested in making porn. All this talk and hype about realism is one thing but it seems too many people out there still want to put the fig leaf on "David" and cover "Venus" up.

$200 on Reallusion software plus what I have spent in the content store for animations, characters, 3D stuff, textures, props etc is very frustrating for some one like myself who just really wants to be creative.

Hi Jim,

The Natural Human Base realistic textures contain full body nude textures which include pubic hair. The Natural Human Base pack does not contain modelled genitalia at all. It is only the textures that add realism, there are no additional "body parts".

Boy, I could say alot about this...but briefly, so I can eat supper and watch the movie "Angel Heart"...which I just downloaded (saw it when it came out but now micky is back in.)

1. I would word the pole differently - as it suggests that those who think that the genital situation is fine the way it is are "prudes" or have a fear of perverts (some of my best friends are perverts).

2. I have argued in the past that if Reallusion wants to market Iclone to the educational market (especially U.S. k-12 or H.S.)  that official content should stay squarely in PG territory.

3. As a development priority I would like to see focus on more "realistic" (short, fat, old, baby) body types...the thing that wiggles and bounces on me is over my belt - not below it.

4. That said - 3rd party developers are more than free to develop as many genital attachments that they like...it should be pretty easy to whip up a "PACKAGE" for Trey - spring effect and all.

Hey lets not blow this out of "proportion" Nigel ;) That is quite an "up-take"...you are rather "bent".

well said JP - lots of development needed on features that would benefit a wider range of users

and very good point on item 4 - might be a good opportunity for the max users out there
