Hi everyone,

I would like to set up TV studio, for green scren, using Virtual Studio vol. 1 and 2 props but have no idea how to start. So I need:
1) any totorials regarding virtual studio setting, except those made by RL
2) I like a display which appears in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pi8oxTcBdWQ; (in 2min 30 sec) - anyone knows how to make it ?
3) all bonus projects in Virtual Studio package have dark atmosphere, I need a bright one - how to make it?

I would be thankful for any help, however I'm not sure I made it clearly.

Hi proinveta.

The things you are asking about can be easily done with iClone. First I'd advise you learn how iClone works...and I'd advise using RL Youtube tutorials to learn it. Everything you need to know about your endeavors is in those tutorials. I'm big into building custom things with textures so I've been through it and still discovering.

The video you mentioned is very old. That's iClone 4. The new iClone 6 has come a long ways since then and you can achieve more. To start with you'll be using the Modify > Texture & Material settings a lot.

1) To build the newsroom ( or any custom set) you can use the "building blocks" via Content > Set > Props > 3D Blocks. They can be attached together to create just about any shapes. Furniture, decor, etc can be found in Props also.

2) Choose your textures. You can get good textures at CD Textures and quite a few other sites if you search the web. Basically you choose the part you want to add the texture to by clicking on it in Modify > Material Settings. Use Modify > Texture Settings > Diffuse (click box). You can use the other effects, such as Opacity, Bump, etc to add effect get things closer to your preferences.

3) Atmosphere is another easy thing you just need to learn. Go to Visual > Atmosphere and there's all your setting and templates will be under Content > Stage > Atmosphere. Also the Lighting Settings can be used here to great affect.

** Your question(s) is way more vast than you think, I believe. Basically it should be " How do I use iClone?" It's very obvious you haven't taken the time to learn the very basics. You need to get those down first, and learn your way around the interface. Then a lot of it's just experimenting with different things. Start thinking outside of the box. Don't worry, there's a lotta cool ways to learn and have fun at it.

I'm not sure why you don't want to use RL tutorials. Thier Youtube channel is where it's all at. You need to go there and learn the basics. Exactly what you're looking for will be under the iClone 5 Tutorials Playlist, but will be fine to learn for iC 6. Also there's the online iClone 6 Online User Manual

That will indeed get you started. Hope it helps. Good luck!
