I am trying to identify what products to purchase to achieve some training videos.  I want to create scences for construction of roads and buildings to show various work processes.
Can I do that with Iclone 6?  Would I need to purchase add on items?  Could I generate the add-ons (with out animation skills).  I can produce drawings and layouts and have photos of scenes.  Can I import models pof plant?  I have scale models I can photograph from various perspectives.  Can I guild  3D models from this?
Your advice would be appreciated.
I would also like to be able to take a plan of an estate/building and produce driver through/ walk through to give a users perspective of the finished product.  I think that Iclone 6 would handle this.  Am I correct?

Or should I be looking at a different product?
Tks.

You will need another application to create the 3D models of your buildings and equipment. There are some popular (and free) tools for doing that.

iClone 6 will do a fine job of creating the animation. (Get the "Pro" version, I don't recommend the basic version to anyone. You can also do a 30-day trial.)

My big question would be, "How much detail do you need? What quality?"

If the purpose is "technical communication" you don't need movie-quality results. If you want to show photo-realistic renderings to a client (like an architect might do), you could still set up your scene in iClone and then use the Indigo plug-in for more refined rendering capabilities.

Your biggest hurdle may well be the number of custom objects you need to create. In particular, if you want high-quality renderings, you'll need high-quality props with good textures, and that gets expensive (in time and/or money).

Many thanks for the response.
It is helpful.
When I have time I will look at the 30 day trial.

For furniture and other props it is worthwhile to look into 3DWarehouse (https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/). Manufacturers sometimes create models of their furniture and place them in Sketchup format in the 3DWarehouse. These models are often pretty good quality and they are free. You would need another RL product called 3DXchange to convert Sketchup models into iClone format.
