Animating a podcast

Hi folks,

I host a podcast as part of my job (Digital Content) for a non-profit society. It's rather popular, but we'd like to add a visual component for other users. I'm not interested in getting into video podcasting (where you record the interview with video, too) and thought that a lip-syncing animation could be a fun way to go.

Is this something that CrazyTalk is capable of doing? I downloaded the demo but it won't let me load up my own audio to test it out. I'd need two talking heads, a standard background and lots and lots of lip-sync tech.

CrazyTalk Animator 2 will let you drag and drop an audio file onto a character and it will automatically lip-sync the characters mouth to the audio. You can also modify the lips to better match the audio if needed. Your audio just needs to contain only the spoken parts for that character.

You can have multiple characters talking.

Heres a little example that Dulci created of a snippet from the Wolf and Dulci show. Can be really effective for doing a shorter highlight of the show but I would imagine it would be tedious to animate a longer show.

I want to do the same , how will the podcast present the animation.
I don't think the basic podcast protocol supports this , i guess some podcast host do have expanded capabilities.

Best approach would be to record each person into their own individual track, that way the lipsync will be better and you wont have to do any additional work isolating the speakers voices and separating out the dialogs.

Yes, just record to different tracks. Use individual sound booth for actors. Or, unidirectional dynamic mics / call center Agent Voice mics. If there are no sound booths and fancy mixers, then use two independent laptops for two actors with Audacity running. The actors can record their voice to their individual laptop. Since they would be in the same room, interactivity can be maintained. Then simply use the individual tracks for lipsyncing. Maintain the length with silence without any edit. It will not take much of work at all.
