Hi all,
I'm using DrawPlus for make some custom parts for a character and props, but I see when I'm dealing with Render Styles that my custom draws aren't affected by the change.

Someone can help me to find the right way to draw correctly for Render Style compliance?

Thanks in advance.
Best regards.

Just make sure that your artwork is in vector format. That's all. Once you import, you'll need to set up the render style groups for that item. In the character composer its the button below the renderstyle button.

Hi Ibis and thanks for your reply,
I'll take a look inside Render Style panel...

Hi Ibis,
I spent a lot of times on vector grouping tool. I 've grouped my head vectors and then apply the Skin01 Name Selection. So, my head became gray as you can see from attachement.

Can't figure out where I'm wrong :crying:

This might be normal. Depends on what colors they were. Now that you grouped them are you not able to change the color?

Hi Ibis,
no I can't. I can only change the first parameter "brightness" and it doesn't work very well...

Hmm, try doing it again. Make sure you are grouping colors that are the same or similar. I've noticed CTA tries to apply as the group default the last color that was grouped. Also don't group geayscale or black colors with regular colors.

Also try applying a style to it via apply renderstyle see if that works.

Hi Ibis thanks again for your time,
I really appreciate it. Today I'll try again, following your indications. I hope this time, will work, but sincerely I'm a bit dejected

it would help if you could record yourself performing this task so i can see what you are doing and can advise better. There a free program called camstudio that you can use.

Hi Ibis,
I've made a video to better explain what I'm doing as you suggest me.

Hope this can help to understand better, where I'm wrong.
Thanks again.

Regards.

Ibis or Staff... any ideas about this strange behaviour?
By Ibis Fernandez - 10 Years Ago
Hmmm are you using a bitmap based sprite for the head? I've seen instances when bitmapped filled objects that are render styled mapped turn grey like that. If this is the case, you should provably switch to a vector program to draw your assets in or convert them to vector somehow before importing them into CTA.

Here's an experiment I ran, as you can see the behaviour your experiencing is very similar to the behavior or bitmap based items where as the vector shapes work as they should.

If you are in fact using vector based artwork and still experiencing this then its definitely a bug. But if its bitmap, this is provably normal cause bitmaps are not really suppose to be able to do the things vectors can do.

Hi Ibis,
really thanks for your time, I really appreciate it...

To draw the head I'm using the vectors software DrawPlus buyes in bundle with CTA2 Pipeline. I notice always the same behaviour with all the vectors I create. I don't know if this is a bug, but I try to ask help to the support staff of Reallusion: if I solve, I'll explain here the solution.

Thanks again.
Cheers.
