I have this weird problem with iClone 5.5 that I didn't have before and I would like to know if someone else had this kind of problem and how it had been solved:
If I load a tree in a scene and try to save the project, everything seems normal, but when I reopen the project, the tree won't appear even if I can see, in the scene manager, that it is there. (If I open an old project with trees, I won't have this problem, except if I save the project again and reopen it afterward). If I try to add the same species of trees in the project I just saved and reopened, they won't be visible either (But I won't have this problem with other species, except that I won't be able to see them either if I save and reopen the project). I checked the visibility parameters, and everything is normal: pixel shading and normal display. Since I have this problem, I tried almost everything to solve it, I even reinstalled iClone 5.5 and it didn't solve the problem.

No problem with iC5.5, here. See Screenshot. 1) Where are you Saving your Project to? I have Current Personal Project Folder with iClone Projects Sub-Folder, on My Desktop. 2) Check your Editing Drive for Fragmentation. 3) Load you Project in Quick Shader Mode. 4) You "might" need to update your Video Card's Driver. Anyone-else?

Assuming the trees are set to VISIBLE.... The logical step to analytics regarding your issue is to ask you the preliminary questions... 1. What computer are you using? (CPU, RAM etc) 2. What free space on your hard drive is there? 3. What Graphics card are you using? 4. What ram does it have? 5. When did you do a global driver update? And from there we can see whether you're using an Amstrad 1512 or a cray bank. Intellectually speaking of course. ;)
Without this base information it would be foolhardy to send you down other parameters. Armstrong.

Here are the details:
XPS 730X Intel Core3 I7-975 Nvidia GeForce GTX 295 SLI 12GoMulti-Canal DDR3 à 1066mHz Windows 7 64 bit I still have 158 Go available All the drivers are up to date.
I have this problem only with trees and it doesn't make sense at all: I didn't have it before. I still can see the trees I add to a scene, animate them and make a render. I just cant't save them in a project or a 3D scene. If I do, though, I will see them appear on the thumbnail, but they won't appear in the scene when I open the project...

My drivers are all updated. I'm saving my projects in the default directory, but I tried saving them on my desktop and it didn't change a thing. Opening the projects with quick shading, smooth shading or wireframe does not change a thing. This problem is a real mistory to me, since I didn't have it before...

Lentamente (1/4/2015) I've made 2 screenshots to show the problem and the parameters.OK 1) Select "American Elm" in Content Manager & then Tool Bar Home Icon, to see if it shows. 2) If it does, Select any Object. Place that on the World Axis & Link American Elm to that. Select "Position", in following Pop-up. If it then shows, un-link it & Delete the Object.

If it is a new project, it shows, as in any other cases. But once the project is saved and I reopen it, it dosn't show, even with the home button.

P.S. In some of the 3D scenes I bought earlier from Reallusion, I have the same problem, even if it isn't scenes that I saved recently: in some of the scenes of the pack World Wildness, I can't see the trees anymore, but in others, I still can see them.

Lentamente (1/5/2015) If it is a new project, it shows, as in any other cases. But once the project is saved and I reopen it, it dosn't show, even with the home button.Have you tried Project / Save Button & Tools Drop-down / Save Project ? Either way, when you Close iclone, don't Select Save Project again, in the following Pop-up. Select No.. I'm in the UK. It's well-past my bed time ;)

To be sure, I tried the 4 different ways to save a project: with the +, with the button, with the pop up menu and with the drop down menu: ans the result is always the same... :(

Lentamente (1/5/2015) To be sure, I tried the 4 different ways to save a project: with the +, with the button, with the pop up menu and with the drop down menu: ans the result is always the same... :(OK Is it just Trees? What about Grass or any other Prop or Test Project? I'm stumped & have run-out of ideas. Basically; you can Open & Save stuff, but it doesn't show in the Viewport if you re-Open it. But it does show in Scene Manager. All I can suggest now, is that you send Reallusion a Support "Ticket", quoting the above. I'll include a Link re; how to do that, if & when I can find it. ADDED - Link: https://forum.reallusion.com/Topic55-13-1.aspx You might have to wait a bit for a Reply, because Reallusion are currently overwhelmed with resolving iC6 problems. Good luck :)
