Is it possible to backup my reallusion folder to use with a new computer?

Hello,

I have bought a laptop and would like to know if I could just make a backup copy from my desktop of my Reallusion folder or will I have to re-install every piece of content one by one all over again?  I have so much content, it would really save me some time to get this done quick and simple.  I plan to keep my desktop version operating and the laptop as my second (on the go) set up.  Any step by step instruction and help would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you very much.

1) Copy Content Folder to DVD(s). Might need more than 1, depending upon how much Content you have.

2) Copy DVD Contents to Laptop Content Folder.

Anyone-else?

Instead of DVDs you can also use an external USB hard drive for backup, which would be a bit easier. That's how I usually do this.

Or simply copy it through the network. If you have a wireless router you are all set if you set up networking. A USB thumb works too.

In the old days we would use a Cat5 "crossover" patch cord between pc's to get the job done.

IMO, iClone won't function correctly on a Networked PC. Like most, if not all, Video Editing, per se, Programs.

IMO, iClone won't function correctlyon a Networked PC. Like most, if not all, Video Editing, per se, Programs.


I thought he just wanted to copy the Reallusion folder over to the laptop after he installed iClone. A networked computer can easily do the file transfer of the folder, or use something like Syncback. They make a FREE version too.

I have several PCs networked together and iClone works fine. I don't see why that would be a problem? I don't use iClone remotely from another PC if that is what you mean.
