Thank you.

If you have CTA 2.12 installed already you just need to install the 2.13 patch.

Ok. Thanks Peter

Peter, do you know whether the animated gif / pptx 2010 issue (i.e. high render quality animated gifs are not properly played back in pptx, but stop prior to the end of the scene) is also fixed? (Since I have the german version I cannot test it, yet.)

In my testing (with CTA 2.13 and PowerPoint 2013) there are no issues even at the highest setting.

Please can you let us know the exact steps you are taking when the error occurs. We will then try to reproduce the problem in PP2010. Thanks.

I simply drag e.g. Emma_Angry from the Perform Learning Kit folder onto the stage and render it (Quick Capture), then click transparency, frequency 15, frames 1 to 152, Looping Options: 1 and paste it into pptx 2010. Nothing else. Starting the pptx presentation Emma runs until approximately frame 50 and then prematurely stops. (However, since I'm working with the German version, which unfortunately is always behind and RL is not willing to change from the German to the English version without paying additional money, I cannot test CTA 2.13 yet).
Anyway, it seems that I'm not the only one having problems with the animated gifs cf. the forum topic: CTA 2.12 and PowerPoint 2010

Thank you for supplying more information. I have passed this to the CTA2 development team to investigate. As soon as I have more information I will update again.

Any idea when the German CTA 2.13 update will be available so that I can test whether the animated gif issue is fixed with this update?

Unfortunately I don't have a confirmed date but hopefully it won't be too long now.

In the meantime have you tried rendering the Animated GIF to a file instead of using copy and paste?

You can go to Render > Render Image and then choose Sequence and GIF as the options. Does this play the full length of the animation when opened in PowerPoint 2010?

By schaal - 10 Years Ago
This, at least seems to work for the whole sequence. However, the resolution is pretty poor (equally achieved otherwise if the quality is set only at 1 or 2). This low resolution is not acceptable having the advertisement in mind.

Try checking Super Sampling. This might improve the output quality. The Animated GIF below is 560 x 315 and shows pretty good quality using these settings.

By schaal - 10 Years Ago
This was a good tip! Super Sampling indeed improves the output quality. And to get a comparable frame rate one has simply to change the frame rate from 30 to 15. Otherwise in pptx 2010 it plays much too slow.

Hi My Name is Al Plymale and we are looking for some talented people that can use this CTA2 Software to do some animated videos for our company. If you are verse in using this software, can write script, and do so in 2 minute or less videos we would like to talk to you.

Thanks

Peter, unfortunately the pptx 2010 is still not completely solved! (Even though it worked for Emma_angry.) Following rendering with the same settings but now with composed clips but also only 170 frames in total, sometimes there are black frames in the pptx presentation inbetween. Initially I thought this might be due to specific sprites, but the black frames seem to appear irreproducibly. The problems start when I tried to include a subtitle. Any idea?

Since CTA 2.14 is now out, and currently the official German version is still 2.12, is there any idea whether the German version will be updated any time as well ????

Yes, it is a long delay... Doze

Luna, thanks for the hint. I will never understand why RL makes such an issue out of language versions...

Anyway, there is still the question unanswered what does it exactly mean that 2.14 is now able to install iMotions outside of the iClone environment. I don't understand that either.

...what does it exactly mean that 2.14 is now able to install iMotions outside of the iClone environment.

I believe it means that you can now install and use iMotions in CTA without having to own or install iClone as was previously required.

This refers specifically to the Marketplace. If you purchase any iMotions, you will get the option in the Downloader to install to CrazyTalk Animator 2 Pipeline now instead of just iClone. Smile

By cbyas - 10 Years Ago
So if we can do this now without iclone. What happens to those of us who had to purchase iclone in order to get this feature? If its now available in CTA2 what of those of us who paid for pipeline? just saying
