In the FAQ from November 13, 2011 it says:

"Can I use two or three Kinect cameras with the Mocap Device? No, not yet. The current version only supports one Kinect sensor at a time."

Any news on that? I'm currently considering going with iPi Motion Capture but it would certainly be nice to be able to just use iClone for that purpose.

On a related note, obviously the "Xbox One Kinect" has some significant improvements over the old Kinect. So it would be awesome to be able to use that once the Windows version is available to the public. There's a beta program (currently closed, though): http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/kinectforwindowsdev/newdevkit.aspx

... maybe this could also solve issues like head tracking (also from the FAQ from Nov 13, 2011: "What about head tracking? Head tracking is currently not implemented as of yet, but it is being developed for a near-future upgrade.") - or even finger tracking ("Can the hands/fingers be tracked by Reallusion's Mocap Device? No, not yet. The current SDK limits tracking, but a future upgrade is already in the works which will allow for hand tracking.")

According to this article, finger tracking (and even face tracking) should be possible with the Kinect v2: http://devproconnections.com/net-framework/kinect-windows-version-2

... so that could be quite a bright future, if iClone fully supports it :-)

Any official word on it?

I support this 200%... Version 1.0 was a good start, but now let's take the Kinect+iClone to the next level!

Nothing to report as yet but I will pass your feedback to the iClone team.

We hope to have more news soon. Smile

This thread is FIVE years old, so hardly relevant.

Microsoft dropped the ball at some point as far as supporting Kinect goes, so RL wisely chose to look for other options.
