This 3d modeling software was offered to me for $31 on Steam today. I'm thinking it might be pretty good, especially for the price. Has anybody heard anything about this software?

Hexagon does all this for free. Is it not free anymore?

It is said that there is restriction to 7000 polygons with a FBX Export in the Steam version.
I looked at the information in Japan.

Hexagon is still free, but it is no longer maintained. It doesn't have a text-to-3D feature, which apparently allows you to describe your models as text.

if you mean Hexagon, it have a text-to-3D feature. Also cost Hexagon 19.95 $

I think you mean the crippled Modo steam Version.

All those features you already have in Blender for free so why pay more? :)

I'm just downloading the trial version of RaySupreme 3d and see it is developed in Germany :D

Also I see now what this text-to-3D feature mean , but for what is this needed ? strange feature for me :hehe:

You type the word desk and the programm generated a Desk a in the viewport .What is the sence? :ermm:

I will more explore, Thank you pete for the hint :)

No rigging and fbx feature in this package . So you go better eg. with my Hexagon DAZ Bridge.

Blender is also not a option for me, because handling is to confuse.

When I need a tutorial to move a cube, is it not right to me. Such a thing should I do intuitiv. I think Andrew Price started the GUI campaign not without a reason

Anyway, I love my Content Creator Pipeline too much to switch > HEX, 3D coat and DAZ

My conclusion,
Ray Supreme is a another Tool in this area , but it is not a must have Tool and still very limited

btw free Tools,if not yet known
The Shade Unity Version is free and have modelling and rigging freatures , also a fbx exporter Not only for Unity it works with iClone too

Anyone using the steam version of Modo .. Even with a export of 7000 Polly's it's still very tempting at £90.

No nothing to me :hehe:

also have you read this ? :Whistling:

MODO Steam Edition is restricted to personal, recreational and non-commercial use, except only for uses of the Software to create assets and content for sale through Valve’s Steam Workshop.

Thanks vidi and everyone for looking into it. :)

I looked at hexagon last night (I'd never heard of it before) and I think I'm going to give it a go. My needs will be relatively simple so I'm hoping on a small learning curve in order to construct some primitive shapes. ;)

Thanks again guys

Just in case no one actually tried this RaySupreme... there is a free download.

It is only crippled in one way: You can't save the RaySupreme projects.

You can create OBJ items and export them, or even import existing OBJ items. These can then be imported and exported from 3dXchange also.
