Any real tutorials on how to use iclone, so far we know (at least to this date) that externals models can't be used, limited facial features so tongues dont exist and if they do they are "the secret" that only the insiders know, if a character wants a big belly he has to have a big butt as well, this app is broken!

If the app is so broken, start using Blender. Use Daz, buy Carrara or Max.
There are tons of useful tutorials out there but nothing replaces good old fashioned button clicks. Most every one on this site is still learning and learn from each other.
All external models can be used inside iClone, they must be imported via the so called "pipeline" that is 3dxchange.
Iclone uses proprietary file formats to compensate them for the time they have taken to build a consumer animation platform that is USER FRIENDLY compared to the other options available.
Lastly, this isn't your run of the mill COD forum or Facebook! The members on this site do not engage in the typical back and forth negative rhetoric. The users on this forum are very friendly and helpful generally speaking.
Speaking negatively about the program and particularly about the members certainly isn't a useful way of getting help.

3d exchange does not work and even if you do manage to get a model in there you cant export it back, it's not like im asking to do anything fancy these are just the barebones and they dont work and nobody on here has even done that

3dxchange does everything you just got through saying it didn't do. I export to and from iclone ALL THE TIME through 3dxchange. I'm not sure what problem you are having but it works fine for most of us.

Many people here have done it, including myself. Originally I was strongly encouraging you to persevere, keep trying, and not to give up. New recommendation: Uninstall iClone, since it is clearly not what you were looking for. Maybe you'll visit us in a couple of months, and tell us all about the other software you find that actually works for you. But since it works for many, many people here, I don't think the fault lies with iClone.

I can't say about Test01, but every forum has one from time to time.
Oh sure, many of us have had a bad day, or been frustrated with iClone or other software. But some people would rather complain than actually try any of the suggestions offered by experienced users. That gets tiring.
Do some come with the intention of causing trouble? I don't know.

True. ICLONE is evolving constantly. RL's commitment shows. People must be patient. But then we all have been impatient at some point or other. It's understandable, it's just the eagerness to do things at the speed of thought.

Is that a fact ? Have people deliberately created trouble here before ? I am not very old here on this forum. They have, but they form a minuscule minority. Most members have a positive atitude, are willing to make the effort to learn, and then you see them contributing answers themselves. Those answers may be cryptic sometimes and involve 3DS Max a bit too much, but there's always something to learn from them, well, mostly... Now I must admit that we do have heated debates every so often with sparks flying, but then things calm down again and everyone is the best of friends, well, mostly... And, Peter (RL), our patient moderator, is always there to keep us within bounds when things get too bad...

well i diddnt give up and i told people the problems, they could not even figure out the basics, you hold no value to the issues that i encountered so do your own stuff since you have not tried to do what i have done, the fault DOES lie with iclone but i have a feeling that you lot are just to blame as well

evolving? it can't even do the raw basics and it doesnt help when people are uploading incomplete files!

I suggested that you describe what you were doing, and how you were approaching the problem. I got no useful response to that, just more complaining. I have created a video SHOWING that I can indeed make an avatar's mouth close in iClone. Exactly what you asked for: Open mouth, turn head, close mouth. The video is estimated to be available about 45 minutes (maybe an hour) from the time of this posting. UPDATE: Video (Rev B) now available Chuck and his big mouth from justaviking on Vimeo. NOW IT'S YOUR TURN. Tell us WHAT STEPS YOU TOOK that failed so miserably. If you still want help, and will cooperate, I and others will help. It's up to you.

Quick tip. Render sample videos in mp4 format and full screen (box or 800/600) uploads take just minutes compared to Avi.

I suspect Vimeo artificially delays the conversion process on free accounts as one way to encourage you to become a paying customer. But worse than that, I now see my recording didn't end when I thought it did. I've pulled down my video and will put up a fresh one shortly. UPDATE: The refreshed video is now available (and is embedded in my previous post).

colour (12/17/2013) Nice Tute, Dennis :)Thanks, Colour. It gave me an excuse to try some new screen capture software, and it worked well. I like the way it shows where I click, but you can't tell if I'm doing a "drag," which is what I have to do when I'm moving Chuck's jaw up and down. I'm sure some narration would be helpful, but it was merely meant to show it's possible (which you already knew). @col757 - As I said, "Your turn." - If you think you need narration to follow what I did, say so, and I'll gladly post an updated video.
- If you faithfully follow the same steps, and it fails, then please post some screen shots and we'll see if we can figure out where you're going wrong (we've all been there at various times and on various functions).
- But if you don't want to bother at all, then there's nothing I (or anyone else) can do to help, and you may wish to mosey on in search of greener pastures, and do without the iClone-induced stress in your life.
- As I said before, I abandoned after trying it about 5 years ago. But now with v5.5 I am having a great time with both iClone and the many fine people I've met here on the forum.

There is one best way to learn iclone. Read the manual and the online help. Everyone that has learned iclone well enough knows it.
There is no magic pill.

well i un installed an reinstalled and with the default character i have managed to do a similar thing to what you did and it seemed to work, (limited on the head turn but still) i downloaded a few of these archives that i found on the forums and 1 of them was tongue base, unassumingly i thought that my character could have a tongue but i'm still on the optimistic side of basic animation, file does bugger all

UTTER GARBAGE! i just did it the same way as you, in fact i just did the mouth animation and for some reason it insists that the mouth is open when you play back the animation from start even though it was closed when you were making the animation, this program is a broken from the ground up!
