I'm considering buying the Facial Pipeline Character Pack with Daz Genesis Extension.  Can anyone tell me if I can use this character pack with my iclone 5 without 3dxchange.  In other words is this a stand alone product to use in iclone.  I'm currently using the trial 3DXchange and not finding it useful for anything.  I can not get Daz characters into iclone without the iclone face Key .DUF and it is supposed to be included in the character pack.  I guess you need 3DXchange to use the DUF file.

Please advise.

Wow.  Fifty views and no replies.  I'll probably go ahead and buy these items on the assumption that my problem is just user error.  I realize that there must be a significant learning curve, however I can't see where I'm going wrong.

When I load the genesis 2 characters from Daz Studio into 3DXchange Pro (Trial version), I go through all the steps following the tutorials on Youtube.  But when it comes to the part where I'm supposed to "Apply to iclone"  the apply to iclone button is grayed out.

Is this because I don't have the iclone Face Key. duf file to drag onto the character? If I buy the Facial Pipeline Character pack with Daz Genesis Extension and the 3DXchange 5 Pro and drag the iclone Face Key .DUF file onto the Genesis 2 characters will the Apply to Iclone button be enabled?  I'd hate to spend over $300. and still not be able to get my Daz characters into iclone.

Sometimes you have to discipline yourself. By that I mean, I would make myself learn why I am having trouble to import from DAZ. Afterall, that is why you bought the exchange tool.

Not picking on you here, just saying.

mean you this ?
if so iAvatar is the native iClone Format

3 Characters with Fully Rigged Faces & Bodies (iAvatar + FBX source)

so you get this 3 Chartacter(Hunter,Chimp and Croc) with this pack , ready to use in iClone

Rampart:  Absolutely.  Self discipline.  I'll work on it.

Haven't bought the Xchange tool yet, but I'm about to.  I'm hoping it will free up some of the grayed out buttons I'm having issues with, like the Apply to iclone, option and the Convert button.  I can't understand why the Convert button is grayed out while the Convert to Non Standard Character is not.  I'm assuming one must cough up the $200. for Xchange to find out.

I have found that clicking yes, to the choice to Export, when closing out Xchange will export the work to the Non Standard Character folder, although the exported iAvatar file will often have lip sync problems, or rubber bones effect.  I assume the 3dXchange Pro will fix this as well.

One can only hope.

Vidi:

Yes. that is the pack I'm ordering along with 3DXchange Pro.  Only the ad says 7 characters.  I guess they are refereing to whatever characters are included in the Genesis Extension, that shows to be included.

Again, one can only hope.

Does the 3DXchange trial version let you export? If you can't export then that would be the reason you can't apply to iClone (which is like exporting without saving to file first).

If you can export then you can simply save the file and load the character into iClone.

3 versions of Hunter
• Shaved Hunter • Fully equipped Hunter • Hunter with mustache

1 Chimp

2 versions of Croc
• Croc -
Tongue is included in the head bone to provide more detailed lip-sync.
• Croc LazyTongue -
Including a tongue set as an extend bone which can be manually edited or assigned a spring value.

and 1 Morph ZArt character (iAvatar)

= 7 :)

Genesis Extension,
That is not a Character, but a time saver :D

1-click conversion for DAZ Genesis Characters to iClone - Body and Face

•
After you select the Genesis character in DAZ, simply drag in the included iCloneFaceKey.DUF file and then export it in FBX format.

•
We’ve streamlined the characterization process for DAZ Genesis characters so that when you import them into 3DXchange in FBX format, it will automatically complete all of the facial and body mapping for you

for that you need of course DAZ Studio and xchange
