AML animation scripts is what really can set your content apart. Create animation in iClone3 and then using the AML ScriptEditor to create personas, idles, performances or operation commands for your avatars or props. Create treasure chests that open or characters doing kung fu by just pressing hotkeys!

With several step by step tutorials, you will learn all the skills you need to create outstanding content for your own projects, or for sell in the Content Stores.

Because in the end, a prop is just a prop, but if you add AML to it so users can interact with that prop- it becomes more unique and fun to have! :P

Dear CloneBot Zack!

I cannot download either file from the page!   I get a message, starting with... "Opps..."  saying I have to login as a CCD.    I do so, I enter my login and password then go back to the download link and....  Oooops!    I get the Ooops again, as if I would not be logged in....

Can you help me?

By Bigboss - 17 Years Ago
Mike, I had the same problem...

I managed a workaround by copying the http link of the AML Download page, then logging in the CCD account and pasting the link in Explorer to access the AML Download Page...:)

Thanks BB!

I tried that too but no luck!   You won!

It's a funny error.   I think the Webmaster should put a link within the CCD pages so we would need to be logged in before trying to download.

I think for sure Peter is reading this, so...   Maybe you can help me!

Thanks BB!  I will try again... You were lucky; let's see if I am too!

Mike

Yeah,.. I did try from several fronts and eventually got it by using the pasted link but I am not sure from where...

Anyway, I am sure that Peter will resolve it...

Cheers..

Hi. I had a similar problem initially but downloaded somehow. Anyway I've just looked again. Try the following. Go to Developer Centre. Log in on the top left. Go to Developer Newsletter on left and click. The AML ScriptEditor download should appear. Hope it works.

Hopefully everyone will have found their way through this maze by now. ;)

The way Gizmo describes will work. But all you really need to do is go to the Developer Center, Login and then click the image that you can see below on the developer home page (right side). This should take you to the AML ScriptWriter page where the download link is. I just tried it and it works so hopefully it will work for everyone now. Apologies for the confusion.

By Apparition - 17 Years Ago
Yea!

It is working now!  I could download both items.

So...  Resolved!  As usual, RL people knows what they are doing!

Good!

Hey, guys

Here should be the issue about cache & flow.

After you log in to your account, you will be directed to the management page.
If you click "Developer Home", and click AML ScriptEditor banner, you will be directed to AML page with the sign-in status. Then, you can download it directly.
However, if you copy and paste the AML page link (or access from the browse history), you will enter it without sign-in status.
This issue can be solved after you refresh the page.

Sorry for any inconvenience
and please feel free to let us know if any other issue

Thanks
Visconti

Hey Visconti!

What a fancy Avatar Icon you got!

Can I add you to my GOOD friends gallery?

It was time you would pop in, but it seems wisely you waited until the tremors were over!

By Visconti - 17 Years Ago
Ha ha...I thought my avatar icon should be the most boring one.
I should try to use another one which is more exciting soon. :D
By Visconti - 17 Years Ago
BTW...
The AML page can be accessible from the left-nav too.
Sign in and click the link in the left-nav should work perfectly too. :)

I know of a nice program called iClone... You should try it one of these days! ;)

Ok, so who is willing to give me the low down on AML ScriptEditor?! I like dirty details, and screen shots? Anyone been able to make a successful script? Or is everyone still learning the ends and outs with the tutorials?

If you got a successful script, send me a video or the actual prop or character so I can have a look.

If you got questions, complaints or a combination of the two about AML, please feel free to hit me with your best shots... so I can pass them a long to get something better for you guys and girls.

And here is a question, right now the AML ScriptEditor is reserved to the CCD and iClone Pro users, but should we make it a free tool for everyone as well?

Feedback is crucial my friends :D

Hi Zack,

I've posted this free on Cool Clones Forum.  I've had people tell me it works and others that say it doesn't.  There is a readme which states you must put the folder with the motions into your custom motion directory.  Then import the persona.  So, I can't be sure if the directions are being followed.  I emailed it to you.

If anyone want to give it a try, it can be downloaded at www.coolclones.com

Video can be viewed at http://www.cloneclips.com/video/328/Working-Out-Persona

I downloaded the freebie and tried it. It worked perfectly.... Cool:)

Hi Zack,

I'm still beating my way through the tutorials, but as soon as I have something that works I'll let you know.:)

Hey Alley! Great stuff! I hope to see more AML Scripts in the making!

And I am patiently waiting Gerry :Wow: lol!

Remember, when you submit props, scenes or characters, we can give you better marketing position on the Content Store since your content is very unique :)

I have my iClone directory on a different drive and I had to change the file locations of the clips in the AML script. So I guess the editor should be provided to everyone for free...

Anyway, after these changes it worked. (And that is probably why it didn't work for some people.)  BTW, about the Readme, if I may, it should add to place the workout.aml file in your Persona directory.

To improve on the AML concept (suggestion for RL), the script should not use absolute filenames but instead take the location of the iClone Custom directory from the iClone environment; just like iClone.

EDIT 1: Also, in Vista, the default "All Users" directory is at "C:\USERS\PUBLIC" so it still wouldn't work without modification.

EDIT 2: I almost forgot, nice script Alley!  :)

Thanks for your comments zuijlen.  And I'll make note of your suggestion in future readme's. :)
By animagic - 17 Years Ago
You're welcome Alley.  I had a lot of fun tonight with your clips; a nice way to do your exercises! (Actually I used it on a young version of my wife...)

I have to correct what I said earlier about the iClone Custom directory.  I opened an RL AML file in a text editor and saw that the root of that directory is referenced as "$", so you have something like "$\iClone Template\Motion\Dance\HipHop05.iMotion".  I knew there had to be a way...

You could probably do the same in the AML Editor to make your AML scripts "universal".  I will try that when I have a chance. (It's now way past my bedtime!)

Just tried this and know I am starting to get some good motions. Thanks RL

Hmmmm..... Keep getting "perform error", am guessing it's something I'm doing wrong but have no idea what. :w00t:
