After I studied the White Paper here and helpful tips from Vit 
I start now my new WIP here for share my progress
That will be my first face rig ever 
For that, I don't use the RL Gamebones and I start from scratch.
I hope it it will work at the end  , but I'm hopefully and I have fun to try new things
I have moddeling the sweety CTA Cherry as a 3D character and now i hope I bring she to life

A tailored dress and creating a concept for the Bones

Hi Vidi, I find this fascinating. It looks beautiful. Like a 1950's cartoon character in 3D.
I took some time out to look at what's happening in the iClone forum to find the 5.5 upgrade now also.
Lots of better things to follow.
This will be interesting to see on completion. Your project here.
As a newcomer to modelling I would be interested also to see a more detailed running commentary of your thoughts, theories and ideas as you progress.
It is from this we all learn and avoid the pitfalls you first fall into.  Armstrong.

All Bones are now in the face . The Bone structure is now my own , also labeled with my own names . I have realized that it is not important what a Stuktur the bones have xchange love all Bones. What for a awesome Tool
Also you can see DAZ studios CCT is a full set RiggingTool . It is a Joy to work with especially the weight brush is incredible nice. (and it is free !!! )

Without the awesome RL tools , I would never start in this challenge.
Did you use Daz Studio to create character? Rigging and skinning
Only the Rigging and weighting is made in DAZ with the CCT.

DAZ Studio 4.x Pro Edition includes all the plugins and features of the Content Creator Toolkit already for free
The Mesh is create in a modeling Program.

I began she to modeled in Silo, because Silo was a offer on green light, but I don't like silo. Therefore I switch back to hexagon, and finished there the modeling part
UV mapping is done in UV Layout (it is my choice of Unwrapping) but you can unwrapping in Hexagon and 3D coat too. But UV layout is so nice and easy .
I have painted the texture in 3D coat and she rigged with DAZ studio pro ContentCreator Tools.
But my favor Workaround is in general for organic Modells
+Sculpting from scratch in 3D coat (because I like sulpting more, than moddeling)
+Retopologize my Sculpt in 3D Coat
+Mesh tweaking and additional Modeling in Hexagon
+UV mapping in UV layout
+3D&2D Painting and texture backing in 3D coat
+Rigging in DAZ studio pro
+Re-Targeting Bones and adjust Facials Controlls with xchange 5 pipeline
+Animating in iClone ... export in additional 3D programm eg. Unity
You see no Maya and no Max is needed

Why ? DAZ Studio pro is free !

I put Bones(Joint Editor Tool) in the mesh and paint for all Bones the influence for the weightmaps (weight map brush tool) . I choose general weight mapping in the Tool Settings.
Actually The same technik how in another 3D programms . But , I have a better grip with the weight brush in DAZ studio. I love it !
btw I just develop a new clothing for Cherry with 3D coat and DAZ Studio

No that mean only if you use DAZ Figures (Genesis Michael Vicktoria) etc.
But Cherry is my own creation from Head to the Toe., also No derivation
So I need me not to worry about any licenses and copyright
