Saving new version of character part not working

Hi. I'm new here. I've been working on a character I drew and imported into the character creator, and have done the bone rigging and am now working with Masking but here's an issue:

The breasts of the character obscure the inside upper arm on the left and right. I launched Photoshop and added a new path and colored in the cut out in the arm that the rigging created, and saved it, but it doesn't change in the character creating window. I tried shutting the programs down and reopening but it still hadn't shown the change. I was wondering if I need to save the upper arm in some specific folder as the one that it came up as was temporary files. Maybe that's why. But in that case, where DO I save the body part?

I'm also trying to find how to get into where you choose the hierarchy of limbs on a character.

And the last thing is that when my character moves its legs and arms there's nothing behind the joint, just space.

I've watched all of the reallusion tutorials on youtube and have found little help there. So I turn to this forum and hope someone can help me. Thanks for your time.

Here's the character I'm working with...

Did you launch PhotoShop from within the Character Composer area using the "Launch" button?

If not, then you need to setup the photo editor application to launch in the settings under Texture Editor.

When launched from within the Character Composer area the file is passed to the photo editor and when saved will be updated in you character.

I'm also trying to find how to get into where you choose the hierarchy of limbs on a character.

The bone hierarchy is under the Scene Manager (lower right) in Composer Mode.
There you will find the Layer tab and the Scene tab.
The Scene tab has the hierarchy and the Layer tab provides the layering order.

You need to have an overlap between each of the joints.

Take one of the standard characters into the Composer Mode and move the arms/legs about to see how the overlap is done.

Yes. Within the program I clicked launch and it brought up Photoshop. Is there a particular folder the saved new version needs to go into? I was wondering about why it came up in Temporary files.

Thank you for your help. I will definitely get to work on seeing how that is done.

Don't "Save As" but just Save it. CTA creates a file in the Temp directory (as defined in your settings) and launches your editor passing that file to it. You photo editor should open with that file already opened for editing. Edit and just save. CTA will see the file saved and load it back into CTA.

I actually tried once renaming it the first time thinking that was what I should do, then I also just chose save in the original file name and still, it wouldn't load. I don't know, is there something wrong with the program, or maybe with my Photoshop program? I have CS5. I got it a good few years ago. Oh and also, is it possible I have done the wrong steps in making the change? When I opened it, launching in the character creator, I did what I saw in the tutorial and made a new path then colored the spot I needed and then as I said, saved. I've never worked with masking before this program. Maybe I'm doing something wrong there. Thanks so much for your continued help.
