Helloooo

I recently upgraded to a Mac and out of all my animation software, the only programs I can't use natively are those from Reallusion. Am wondering if there are any plans to create Mac versions of iClone etc.

I attempted to install iClone 5 on to a Parallels 8 virtual drive but iClone won't install to a virtual drive so... have created a Bootcamp partition expecially for iClone. Is a bind keep booting in and out of different OS's but until iClone goes Mac I guess it's what I'll have to do.

Peter (RL) actually mentioned something about a Mac version recently. I'm not sure what the details are.

I asked the very same question and it seems that RL are thinking about it.
I also asked if there would be the opportunity to cross-grade should this become a reality to which I was told it would most likely be in the form of a paid upgrade to iclone 6.

I've recently purchased iclone 5 and am running it under bootcamp with windoze7 and it seems fairly happy.
I wish it was native on the mac but into every life, a little rain must fall.

Hi Jan,

Native Mac versions of CrazyTalk 7, FaceFilter 3 and CrazyTalk Animator are/will be available.

iClone is still being evaluated but nothing definite planned as yet I'm afraid.

This makes me sad :crying:

How is it that such a cool and creative tool is NOT available for Mac? Does not compute. Please correct that. Not a happy camper here.

Hi..

I can understand the frustration but up until recently we only made products for Windows OS. However we have recently taken the first steps into native Mac apps with CrazyTalk 7. Other products are still being evaluated. Keep checking back for more news as we get it.

i bought CrazyTalk7 for Mac (via Mac App Store)..

Still waiting for iClone for Mac OS X…
Seems very strange that you’re not develop more software for OS X..

it’s not a secret that Mac users purchases legal software more often than Windows users.

I've been working with Iclone 5 for almost a year now. I push the software hard, really hard - to the extent that I slog through slow performance just to get the shot I want.

IClone could use a performance upgrade.

Being able to run it in the new Mac Pro tower could be a very good thing in this regard!

I wish iclone was on Mac too

Any news in the pipeline about iClone being ported to Mac ?

The market for creating / editing avatars is become bigger with all the new Virtual Worlds like Sansar - High Fidelity etc.
People want an easy and user friendly tool for creating their avatars ... iClone for Mac seems a very good fit here

Unfortunately there is nothing in the immediate pipeline regarding a Mac version of iClone. Never say never though.

I'm sorry I can't bring you better news.

I use a number of 3D tools for making images including poser.  But i would also like to give iclone a try. I have a mac. I use your crazytalk animator which seems to work fine on a mac.  you have been talking about a mac version of iclone for 3 years now.  Are you closer or is it on the shelf?
Kind regards,
esther
PS I also would buy a lot of content if I were to use iclone.  Ihave tons of poser content. I'm a content addict.  I also love my mac.

Noticed the last post on this discussion was 2016.
Are there any updates with regards to releasing Mac version of character creation?

Same here ... it seems no iClone Mac version planned
Reallusion: any Mac plans or still nothing concrete ?

Hi, i am very interested in the mac version too.  Especially as there is an imac pro out in december which should be really amazingly powerful.  Please make iclone for mac.
Kind regards,
esther

I seriously doubt there is ever going to be a version for Mac, since the iclone engine relies heavily on dx 11 and nvidia tech, they would have to rewrite and port everything to opengl, resulting in two different engines, so RL would end up with two iclones and Just one budget for development, so if they did that they would shoot themselves in the foot, if RL was a bigger company maybe it would be feasable

Unfortunately there are no immediate plans to port iClone to Mac. For now you will need to use Bootcamp on a Mac and install a Windows OS (7/8/10 64bit) alongside your Mac OSX.

I have a 3d character that I would like to import into Crazy Talk 8 but because I have a mac I don't have Iclone. How can I import my character into Crazy Talk 8? Please help

I hear ya, creating a Mac version does sound like it would be a lot of work that might not pay off sufficiently.

A much easier compromise could be for RL to test iClone in Bootcamp on various Macs and write a reassuring sales page that let's us know exactly what will work and what won't.   Clearly many Mac users, including this one, want iClone but are hesitating because of Bootcamp uncertainty.  You can help us get over the finish line without having to code a Mac version of iClone.

How about a one time sale price pitched specifically to Mac users, because we are so incredibly special and adored by RL etc etc.  :-)

Without a powerful NVidia GPU (1070 or 1080 with GB VRAM), using GI would be difficult because it would then mostly depend on the CPU. I understand GPU choice for Macs is limited to AMD, so that's the first problem.

iClone remains a Windows only product. There are no immediate plans to release a native Mac version.

For now Bootcamp is the only way to go for Mac users and install a Windows OS alongside your Mac OSX.

It might help if anyone could provide reports from users who are doing this.

I'm running Win7/64 on VMWare Fusion 8 and thinking about getting iClone... Any issues reported regarding Fusion 8?
Thanks

There have been a couple of users who have claimed to have iClone running on virtual machine software, but officially iClone does not support software like VMWare Fusion or Parallels.

me too. I have a new imac pro and i would be very excited to try iclone on it.  Is this something that is going to happen one day?
By estherau - 8 Years Ago
New macs can run any video cards really because thunderbolt 3 is very fast and it can connect to an external GPU.
If the card was the only limitation to using iclone on mac I would get a video card that was appropriate.

Any update for Mac users? Is iClone8 will see M1 MAX?
Currently, iClone 7 isn't working (via Parallels) on Mac. I get following error (lol)

Unfortunately there are no plans for a native Mac version of iClone 8 and it remains unsupported for use with virtual machine software like Parallels. You will need to have a Windows PC to run iClone 8 and CC4.
