I have been looking for some kind of solutions for 3D Characters in ICLONE to do more Squash N Stretch to give more fluidity to the character animations.

A small sample of Squash & Stretch in 3D :

Here's a demo that provides a part solution with Bone Scale Possibility dynamically in 3D Animation.

Also Please Check This Case Study of Squash And Stretch in 3D Character Animation :

In addition to Bone Scalability, I would prefer something like a Full Body Cage ( like a Deform Tool that deforms / Tapers / Stretches primitives in 3D Modelling Tool) that would treat a fully developed 3D Character as a normal Primitive and then Deform like a rubber Band, yet maintain the total Volume of the Object / Character .

----
Rubber bones ( Concept Borrowed from Blender )

It's also possible, in good toon tradition, to compress and extend bones beyond their “rest lengths”, using the “stretch” parameter for bones that are part of IK chains and the “stretch to” constraint.

Will Reallusion or a Third Party Solution provider take this up ?

Probably an influential opinion maker on this forum would push Reallusion for this feature. This will help ICLONE stay miles ahead of others in its class.

Peter,

I am glad you liked the suggestion.

Could you please consider another small request ?

1) Allow users to have an option to "AVOID OUTLINE" on "Eyelashes and Hair" in "TOON SHADER" Mode.

Trust me this simple option will allow users to have real close up of the character's face which usually people avoid because of the Dirty outline around the Eyelashes and Hair. The Alpha Threshold helps a little bit, but it thickens the eyelashes and EATS UP hair.

If you give a check box for " No Outline" in the material section of Eyelashes and Hair, it will be a great help.

Hi Prabhat,

Just a further update to the points you raised.

Regarding Squash and Stretch, Autodesk is going to release the new standard for motion editing including Squash & Stretch. iClone will update with this new Autodesk motion editing standard in the future.

For your second point on Toon Rendering, We'll try to improve Toon render quality in the future. Right now though, you can check “Alpha Threshold” under Hair Material Settings to clear the unwanted lines of the hair. For eyelash, you can just remove it.

Thanks again for all your feedback. Smile

Thanks Peter. We will be eagerly waiting for this new Motion Editing Standard. I am sure this Squash N Stretch possibilities help ICLONE emerge as a great tool for Anime Character Animators.

In the meanwhile, please find a way to allow all DAZ EXpression Morphs with SLIDER ( as seen in 3DX) inside ICLONE to . embed the expressions on the TimeLine with the help of a right Click.
Let's call it EXPRESSION MODIFIER, like your Motion Modifier.

Hm can you give more info on what you mean by "Motion editing Standard"? peter? Just curious. Thanks.
