I think the new Pinhead project is a brillant idea, however, I would like to know how can one get a hold of the Pinhead voice because we are all so used to hearing it that, to use something different is not the same but it's okay other characters. Most actors do put on a different voice for different roles.

Pinhead's voice is Realspeak "Lee" Australian Voice, from Nuance, formerly Scansoft, Gerard.

Several of us have Scansoft "Lee" & Nextup Textaloud TTS (Text To Speech) Program for Producing MP3 / WAVPCM Audio Files from Scripts for Importing into iClone Facial Animation, ioncluding me. Roger has already offered to do your Pinhead lines, in reply to your request in Video Friends Forum.

Pinhead's Voice also works in iC5 32 Bit, not 64Bit, TTS Editor, here.

My name is really John but...when I started playing Napoleon Total War 2 years ago I took on the name "Peter Blood" as my ship captain. As my player rep grew within the community, the players began calling me "Pete"  (even though they knew my real name). I felt it was like a badge of honor so I took it as my own. :D I started a naval clan, "The Dark Corsairs" (using the heart and skull as our logo) and 150 of us fought under that banner (now retired) for many a sea fight.

I used it on my machinimas so that all of my NTW friends would be able to know that it was me making them. Now, animation speaking, I am Peter Blood, action director (hehe). Have I created a Frankenstein monster that will consume me in the end? :w00t: Stand by for next weeks episode to find out I guess. ;)

I'm just joking of course.  What I'm really saying is, "Wow, what a great video you produced.  Excellent work."  I'm looking forward to seeing your entry.

It must be remembered that those videos are pure machinima, and that I didn't do any of the animation. My contribution was the story and finding a way to tell it. My own animation skills are meager when compared with the vast majority of the members of our forum.

I'm merely hoping to produce something that will entertain and, at the same time, not embarrass me. :P It's an honor to be a participant. :D

I am the master of hastily-produced Pinhead projects.*  So feel free to make apologies about the work not being up to your usual high standards based on time constraints, but seriously, the more the merrier.

I hope you'll be able to participate.

* My shining example of a hasty project is my "Lost In Time" project video, "An Epic Adventure."  I have mentioned this video a couple times, not to boast, but to lower the bar for other people.

I did not do any voice-overs, not even a computer-generated Pinhead voice.  Pinhead's girlfriend is literally half there; she's just a torso and head.  Other issues are too numerous to list here.  Needless to say I didn't win any awards or prizes that time.  But in spite of that, I felt I was able to at least convey the story that was in my head (which I think had "good bones"), I had fun doing it, I learned something (especially in the "what not to do" category), and I think some other people managed to glean some small enjoyment from it too.

I'll keep saying it; much of the value comes from simply participating.  Everyone, please join.

Are Pinhead's "Pickup Lines" down to personal experience;) 

It's not exactly a "New Year's Resolution" but I have made a conscious effort to lighten up (relax) about a few things when reviewing other people's work, and be more thoughtful prior to making any negative comments.  It's not that I think I said anything wrong or mean, exactly, but I want to more considerate before posting "critique" comments.

Don't worry, though.  I probably will have a "critique" thread somewhere once all the entries are in, and as new iClone participant I'll be prepared to be on the receiving end of quite a bit of feedback.  ;)

No worries mate. ;) I'm scheduled to do another Arianna flick, so it's back to the past for me. I have been thinking about having her discover a 'steampunk island' though, just to get her into a society where a sword isn't her only weapons choice. (I'd love to make her into a 'steampunk pistoleer' with a couple of exotic hog-legs on her hips.) I'll leave the future to those with the animation skills to bring it to life. Something you have in abundance my friend.

Glad you liked it man. I don't see Miracle making "The Spy Who Loved Me But Didn't Like My Shoes" anytime soon, although I think Jake and Vi would make some pretty good characters. The buildings( I call them "New Vegas" and I have about 10 of them made.) and vechicles (I have the Speeder, a Taxi, a Police Cruiser, a School Bus, a couple of trucks, and "The Black Bug".) will be available in my prop store as soon as I can get it up and running. I'll post whenever that is.

This flick turned out to be all about 'paths'. I learned alot about how they work because of this contest. Thanks to the Pinhead crew for inspiring me to learn more than I knew yesterday. As they used to say on "Hee Haw"  Saaaaa-Lute!

I always promote a few key reasons for (or benefits from) participating in Pinhead projects.  Fun and the satisfaction of having done a project are a couple good reasons.  And the LEARNING is another excellent reason to participate.

Both from your own activity, and from watching others, I think everyone always learns something from having done a Pinhead project.

There's still about 11 days left, so it's not too late to join.  :)

Thanks for the kind words.  I'm feeling good about the structure of my project, and the pieces are coming together.  My first criteria of success for MY projects is; was I able to make what I envisioned in my head appear on the screen?  I think that's happening.  Then it's a matter of "fit and finish"; being able to produce a quality product, and that will be the challenge.

As for Pinhead voice-over lines, I do not think I'll need more.  I appreciate the support you've given me (and others), but I understand we cannot expect you to put your project at risk for us; that would be unreasonable on our part.

Good luck to all, and I'm so glad to hear that Animagic will be joining the party.  I'm sure there's still time for others.  Not everyone is as slow as me.

An animated commercial for the imaginary product Breezaway, which does wonders after a night drinking.

Disclaimer: By no means is it my intention to encourage irresponsible behavior!

I have modeled this commercial after the kind that presents a problem in the form of a little story. Only at the very end you find out what they are selling.

The animation was done with Reallusion iClone 5.4. Other tools used are RL 3DXchange 5.4, Sony Vegas 10, and Sony Cinescore. 

When I came to the US with my European teeth, I saw a poster in the dentist's office: "Do you like your teeth?":D Huh??? Then my (American) wife asked me (in jest): "Is this your original nose?"...:ermm:

What a wonderful clip!

The sound effects were very good, and incorporated some nice detail such as shutting off the engine.

I also liked your editing at the end, as all three characters shared what was essentially one line of dialogue.  That's exactly how it's often done on real commercials.

Meanwhile... sigh... another night of zero progress slipped by.  Oh well, the weekend is upon me, and I have big plans and great ambitions for Pinhead.

It is a lot of work to do a clip, and I added little touches while developing it, like the various patrons in the bar at the beginning. You only see them for a couple of seconds, but they helped fill the scene in. Then I needed parked cars, because they didn't walk... And then I thought, seeing some of the simple, but delightful entries of others, am I making things too complicated? But, like you, I have ambitions for Pinhead, and I was quite pleased with the end result when it came all together.

I did notice the "extras" walking around in the background.  They were NOT a distraction.  It is amazing what is taken for granted, until you have to do it.

That's especially true in software (animated) environments, and I've heard this said before.  I really enjoy watching some of the DVD bonus features for movies like animated Pixar movies or CGI-heavy films like Iron Man.  You don't get "accidental" reflections, lense flair, reaction to the wind, dust blowing when you walk across a dusty road, and so on.

As a beginner, something as simple as looking for a table becomes a project of its own.

But I still consider it fun.  Go figure.

A fine job sir. I think all of the extra work you did( like Pinheads T-shirt for example) comes through and enhances the scene quite nicely. Kudos :D

I was trying to decide if that was intential or just an "iClone thing."  Either way it fit the video and the product being pitched.  :)

The moment I saw "new hair gel" and "Ahroo" I knew we were in for treat.  For every clip, I think I've remarked on the way Pinhead's hair "bobbles and wobbles" around in her clips.  It amuses me.  It's almost a trademark feature.

Then I had to do some errands, so I've I've spent the last two hours waiting to get back to my computer.

Ahroo, your clip did not disappoint.  Another great job.   :)

There's one thing I must say, though.  Great minds think alike.  I still do not want to give away any secrets for my clip (hopefully posted in the next 36 hours - hopefully), but your clip has something in common with mine.  But you'll have to wait to find out what it is.

I just wished Pinhead would bring out a hair-growing jel also...

The quick-fire camera switches & car motion ensured a very realistic car chase. In fact - I felt quite giddy.

The car chase was quite a challenge, but I'm pleased how it came out. I found it's not enough to have the car just going fast. So I linked some of the cameras to the car but added extra movement to them, independent of the car itself. The sound effects helped a lot too.

Pinhead's nose color may just have been a result of the lighting. He's actually been quite good and offers to drive, but his girlfriend, Tracy, won't hear of it. I wonder if he got her through the Pinhead Pickup University?

I am SO close.  I added some music yesterday, but I think I over-did it, and will have to remove some, or at least dial down the volume.  I know I'm over-thinking this.  Part of the curse of taking to much time (calendar time, not necessary project-hours) is that you keep thinking about more and more little things.

I ended up working on a little (in theory) construction project today.  It's so hard to build furniture type of stuff without proper tools.  I'm exhausted.  Hopefully I'll still muster up the energy to do a little bit of Pinhead tonight.

I won't make my goal of submitting it this weekend (I also missed my end-of-March) goal.  I'm now targeting Tuesday night.  I am still determined to do it BEFORE the 14th deadline!

Sometimes it is hard to get motivated on this stuff, I think it's because ideas come faster than animation. :doze: It'll make you feel good to get it done so focus on the next scene and then the next until it's finished...then, with a few days left to submit, consider some embellishment to pop the viewers eyes out. :D

I had three more flying sequences in mind for mine and an opening before the commercial started. I had to dump it all because of the time constraint.<shrugging shoulders> Oh well, I have some great ideas that I'll hopefully use in a video down the line so they weren't a complete waste. :P  (Artfully speaking ;) Inspired action is never a complete waste.)

I have to give holler to Colour, one of the most die-hard Pinhead fans there are.  How's it going, buddy?  I know you had some iClone troubles right near the project deadline last time.  When you tried to make a little adjustment on getting his feet into the stirrups correct, Pinhead suffered from "foot-in-ear" syndrome.  And you lost your cheering crowds (which most of us didn't even notice until you mentioned it, due to the story-line capturing our attention in a good way).  How is it going this time?  Doing lots of "Save-As" and stuff like that?

Right now I'm pretty much done with the iClone work.  It actually turned out to be a modest amount of my project (in terms of number of frames).  I made a little adjustment to Gwynn on one shot so she doesn't look like a psycho (her eyes were a bit odd, and I had to adjust where she was looking.)  Now I'm mostly doing "Studio" (NLE) editing, adding titles and a bit of sound here and there.  I want to add a "sparkle" effect, but I don't have the effect I'm looking for installed on one computer, and it's unstable on the other, so if everything else gets done I'll probably leave that out.

What resolution and format do most of you use?

I'll be uploading to Vimeo, and will make my project available for download on the PinheadHQ "View Clips" page.

My project format is 16:9 widescreen, and I'll do a final 1920x1080 rendering of my iClone (and other) clips.  Those clips get assembled in Avid Studio where I also add credits and stuff like that.  Should those be in AVI format, or do you think Hi-Def "WMV" format will be fine?

But for my FINAL, SUBMIT-MY-CLIP rendering, what do you recommend?

• 1280×720p?
• WMV format?
• What bit-rates and other options do you suggest?

ABOUT THE DEADLINE EXTENSION:

I have no objection to the extension.

Since I will be ready on time, I could be selfish and fight to keep the original schedule so I can see the awards ceremony sooner.  But as someone who has struggled with the deadline more than once (sometimes unintentional procrastination, sometime because "life happens"), I will gladly support The Committee's request to extend the deadline.

I use MP4 because it works for me and it is the recommended format for YouTube, where I post my videos.

I do use 1920x1080 sometimes, but it would essentially be the same procedure: rendering in PNG sequences, assembling in Vegas, and then rendering out in the format required for the target. I don't currently have the internet bandwidth to put that format online; it would take forever...

I Export from iClone to Uncompressed RAW AVI, for Import into Studio 12/16. S12/16 Export to WMV HDV 720/25P 1280 X 720 5:1 Surround Sound. for Upload to Vimeo & PHHQ.

The mathematically inclined might notice the asymptotic trend that's developed.  I'm always getting half-ways closer.  My delays are getting shorter, but still non-zero.

If I had to, I could submit it tonight.  But I don't have to.

I'm doing some final re-renderings, and will be able to give it a final review tomorrow.  It always seems I notice some dumb error (dumb, even by my standards) about 3 or 4 hours after submitting my video; misspellings in my titles, a piece of music that inexplicably disappeared, stuff like that.  That usually because I'm bumping into the last hour of the project deadline.  I want to enjoy submitting it without the panicked feeling this time.

I'm still enjoying taking it way too seriously.  I know, I know, it's not a REAL commercial.  But it's fun anyway.  I got my wife to sit down with me and help give some constructive criticism.  Much of it I was already aware of, at least to some degree, but it was helpful to hear it from someone else (and it was fun to pull her into the project, even if only a little).  I tightened up some of the editing, even if it only meant removing a 0.5 second pause here and there.  I also had to level out the volume on some of the audio clips.

I was going to post a couple more pictures here, but I'm getting tired.  I put in a full day at work, put a coat of primer on my little TV stand, helped my youngest do some homework (meaning I gently made him do it, mostly by being present, but it kept me away from other things), edited Pinhead, played a couple games of Mario Kart on the Nintendo 64 with my youngest, and then worked on Pinhead again.  And after all that, I'm still finding time to write a long-winded post to my Pinhead buddies.  Yes, you are that special.

I am slightly over the 2-minute mark with my project; maybe around 2:08 or so.  I hope you'll forgive me.  It's not the advertisement's fault.  It's not the credit's fault.  What?  That makes no sense!  What else could possibly cause my project to spill over the targeted time?  You'll find out soon.

Oh, oh, oh!!!  This morning during breakfast I saw a commercial for "teeth in a day."  I can't remember the actual company or product name, but I'm sure they are infringing on the "TEEF" patents.  It was a serious commercial, but all I could think about was Teef.  :D

I've decided I probably will not re-render parts using a higher resolution.  I was going to do that because I have a few intermediate steps, and I didn't want to lose quality along the way.  I didn't work in 1920x1080p from the beginning because I was copying files to a laptop and doing my non-iClone NLE editing there, and I was worried about it bogging down.  I thought I'd re-render all the components a final time at the higher resolution, and then only at the very end would I produce a lower-resolution version suitable for uploading.

This morning I'm thinking it might just be too much effort and too much risk of additional delays with too little impact on the end product.

In preparation for my upload, I will reveal a bit more about my project...

This contains partial SPOILERS, so if you want to be totally surprised about 10 hours from now, stop reading.

I don't think my project needs to be explained.  If its done right, it will be comprehensible and able to stand on it's own.  But if anyone is bored and wants to read about it ahead of time, here's a long back-story for my project.

I had two major requirements I wanted to meet with this project.  I wanted to use iClone and participate in the 3D world, but I also wanted to continue supporting the traditional 2D Pinhead.

I had fun playing with that "conflict" in my Pinhead's Final Wish entry, where he was trying to decide which was better, 2D or 3D, and ultimately decided neither was superior.  He's always Pinhead, regardless of how he is modeled.

I was so excited when the "Pinhead in a TV commercial" (Pitch Man) concept was chosen because I knew exactly what I wanted to do ever since we started suggesting project ideas.

My solution was to sandwich a 3D commercial between two 2D Pinhead TV shows.  That is why I commented to Ahroo that great minds think alike, because her entry starts with (paraphrasing) "Laverne and Shirley will be right back... after this commercial."

I envisioned a "2D Pinhead marathon" where the TV channel (PHTV, of course) is showing many back-to-back episodes of 2D Pinhead shows.  As the first show ends, and credits roll, it includes a teaser/advertisement about what episode comes next.  Then I go to my commercial.

My commercial is where I used iClone.  Not a lot, actually, but there is a 3D Pinhead in a 3D environment, and Gwynn shows up too.  I didn't have a lot of action, but I had fun working on some expressions and some detailed hand/prop interaction.

After the commercial, the next 2D episode begins.  But something was missing.  It seemed like the transition was too abrupt.  Then I figured it out.  I need a "generic beginning" or introduction to my 2D Pinhead episodes.  My solution?  A theme song!

Before my new episode starts, I have a very short "Hey, the show's on" sort of introductory theme song that's maybe 7 seconds long.  Then the new episode begins.

Each "2D Episode" has some credits, and then a little bit of additional credits for the "Pitch Man" project itself.

That's what I thought I was doing when I released mine, but the "PREMIER RELEASE DATE" got moved on me after the fact. :D

Which only goes to prove that:

In spite of having to help one of my daughters with her taxes last night, and in spite of having to help one of my sons with a Windows 7 installation last night (and still struggling with some driver issues), and in spite of having a rendering problem last night (isn't that typical, just when you're about done, it starts freezing at the 98% or 99% complete point)... in spite of all of that, I got it done.  Phew!

I am still working on one or two OTHER PEOPLE who might possibly submit an entry.

Now I can sit back, enjoy the remaining entries, look forward to the voting and awards ceremony, and start daydreaming about the next project.  :)

I really had fun doing it, and it's always satisfying for me when the result matches what I was envisioning.  I'm so glad you enjoyed it.

If you're interested, here's a back-story about the theme song...

I planned on having a chorus of singers; my wife and two of my daughters at least, maybe more.  As a place holder, I had one of my daughters sing it for me.  I coached her through a couple of takes, and one of them was very much what I was looking for.  "That's good enough for now," I told her, "we'll do the official recording later."

I took my favorite take and copied it to a second track in Audacity.  Then I shifted the pitch up two notes (from "C" to "E") and viola, she was singing with herself in harmony, without having to record a another take.  I was surprised at how well that worked.  My daughter spent the rest of the weekend walking around the house, singing that goofy little ditty.  (That's when I really knew I wouldn't have to rewrite the song.  Stupid, but catchy; that's perfect!)

Suddenly my other singers decided the single-singer version was good enough (either because they believed that, or because it was a way to get out of being recorded).  So to enrich it a bit more, I figured I'd have my son create some instrumentation.  He plays guitar, and he also has fun creating his own digital music on the computer.

Well, my son is not a fan of the theme song.  He does not like listening to it.  In fact, he once said, and I quote, "It sounds demonic."  But after two weeks of pestering, I finally got him to sit down at the computer to compose some music.  "Something light and cheerful," I directed him, "maybe even just some wire-brush-on-cymbals rhythm or something like that."

A couple hours later he officially gave up.  The rough take, which became the final project, was simply ad-libbed and does not have a very regular beat.  On the computer, it's hard to create music with an irregular, varying rhythm.  Perhaps he could have played along with the guitar and recorded that, but by that time he was so sick of the song I don't think I could have paid him to do it.

The moral of the story is, just as in the software projects I encounter at work, the biggest risk of a proof-of-concept is that "the pilot becomes the product."  And sure enough, the little recording we made "just so I could put in a place holder for conceptual and timing purposes" became the official 2D Pinhead Theme Song.

Roger's reference to "A Golden Spurtle" refers to Dennis's first Pinhead Project Clip in 2006, when the Pinhead Community Projects first started. That Clip remains a Pinhead Classic to this day, particularly the ending:D 

DEnnis has submitted a Pinhead Community Project Clip in every Project since then. Plus a few "Fun" Clips. An achievement to be proud of, culminating with his current clip, using iClone 5, which he's only had for 3 months.

I too, marvelled at the precise animations, particularly Gwynn's finger following the outline of the fork (spoon). 

All-in-all, another Pinhead Classic Clip to be proud of Dennis.:)

ABOUT THE GOLDEN SPURTLE:

As Peter (Colour) pointed out, the "Golden Spurtle" dates waaaaay back to a time on the Video Friends Forum where it became a running joke.  I think there is a cooking contest of some sort (in Englad or Sweden or Germany... somewhere in Europe) and the top prize was a "Golden Spurtle"... or the award was something fabricated by a forum member, I'm not sure.  Regardless, I featured it in my first Pinhead video, in which we were supposed to share something about where we lived.  We had great world-wide participation and it was a lot of fun.

A sprutle is used to stir thick food, like oatmeal.  It was a familiy member who, upon seeing one of my early drafts, suggested my spoon (err, Safety Fork) looked like a Golden Spurtle."  At that moment I instantly knew what I had to do, and "The Golden Spurtle Company" was born.  Inside jokes are always a dangerous thing, but I felt safe that it wouldn't be too distracting for the non-spurtle people.

FRIENDS, OLD AND NEW:

There are so many fond memories in the clips, and we all have our list of favorites.  I realize they don't mean as much to those who didn't participate "back then," but the amount of creativity and talent is truely astounding, and the friendships formed between members has been pricelss.

Although the advent of the iClone version of Pinhead was a bit of a culture shock for me intially, I'm glad to see his fan base expand as more people get to know and love him.  And he's managed to "still be Pinhead" through it all, which is great.

I'm enjoying meeting and getting to know some of the iClone people here.

Pinhead in the RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police)?  It sounds like a big adventure, or a farce like Dudley Do-Right, but I cannot imagine what product he would be advertising as a Mountie.  It looks like your secret is safe for now, at least from me anyway.

When I comes to Kraft Macaroni and Cheese, I'm a spoon man myself.  I put it in a bowl.  That way I don't push it across the plate when I near the end, and the spoon (a soup spoon so I can shovel it in faster) fits the curvature of the bowl, making it easy to get that final golden-orange morsel of deliciousness.

'Bout time the Committee showed-up with a Clip or two;). I just knew there had to be a reason for the extension.;)

What a delightful surprise!

I was looking at the thumbnail screenshot on Vimeo, and then pressed PLAY.  As soon as Pinhead started talking, I let out a laugh or snort or something.  My older son, turns toward me and says, "Are you okay, Dad?"  I had to immediately show the clip to the entire family.

I enjoy golfing, but have been doing it less and less over the years, and I miss it.  Boy oh boy could I have used the "No-Loss Ball."  I have literally lost golf balls in the fairway.  My dad, on the other hand, would fill his bag with balls he'd find while we're looking for mine.

Most people consider the cost of green fees when deciding if a course if too expensive for them or not.  I take into account how many balls I'll have to replace.

I also loved the practical joke you played.  I'd love to do that to my brother.  (He once hit the ball between his own two legs on a driving range, and failed to get past the end of the tee box on a course, but he doesn't like it when I remind him of those fun times.  Hmm, maybe I don't need to play the joke on him.  I'll find another victim.)

A wonderful "everything to everyone" product.  A bit of silliness where you can play a trick on your neighbor.  And that's not all, oh wait, that IS all.  No, there is more.  Lots of wonderful animations and many other praise-worthy features.  And Pinhead through-and-through.

Speaking of Pinhead, how do you do Pinhead's voice?

Okay, I had to make note of a FEW other things I noticed... you really packed in a lot of detail.  The camera work, like when it zooms in the clock after showing the busy office worker; the echo when they repeat "Norge" (I thought about a bit of echo with my product name, but I really like your "synthesized" voice effect a lot, a good fit with the visual); so many sound effects, like banjo-playing robots; and a cell phone app too!

And Pinhead was such an enthusiastic Pitch Man.  He keeps rambling on, even during the final legal disclaimers.

Now that I'm at home and can access PinheadHQ, it does rather clearly state, "Simply create a TV commercial, minimum of 30 seconds for the ad..."

So unless The Committe grants a waiver, I like what you suggested.

Another idea:  As the "commercial" comes to an end, pull back to reveal that you are watching a television.

Here is my contribution.  Frankly this was a harder assignment than I thought.  To keep things to 2 minutes isn't easy - anyway, as always, I had fun doing it which is what it is all about.  And I learned a couple of new things, used the motion puppet "layer" capability.

I've been talking about a couple of people who might enter their first-ever Pinhead clip. It has now happened.

I'm proud to announce my 8-year-old son has just entered his first-ever clip, "The Perfect Cam."  He has enjoyed Pinhead since he was a toddler, and is so happy to be able to participate in a Pinhead project.

Note:  You may call him "Viking Jr." for now  :)

This entry is entirely his own creation. He came up with the idea and created it in PowerPoint, doing all the typing and photo placement himself.  I exported the PowerPoint slides to individual files* and loaded them into Avid Studio. He did the music selections and helped adjust the timing to his liking.

Roger (RogRead) generated the Pinhead voice for him. I wish you could have seen his face when he heard Pinhead speaking the lines he wrote. A delightful grin spread across his face that could have lit up a city as he heard the first couple of lines being recited.

His entry is the most "serious" one so far. No jokes. No puns. No comic peril. Just Pinhead advertising a camera that is perfect for you and your family.

You'll notice some "8-year-oldness" here and there, such as the phone number and the email address. He knew it could not be a real phone number, so he made up a long one. And you just have to love his pricing; it's very specific.

* One thing about Pinhead projects, you seem to learn something every time. I learned there is a trick to exporting HiDef pictures from PowerPoint. The default is a disappointing 96dpi, but there is a registry edit you can do to change that. I needed to do that because the text from PowerPoint-to-Studio-to-WMV turned out very blurry initially. Here's a link to the instructions provided by Microsoft.

The restrictions in length certainly helped me not to get too ambitious, so that I could complete something in time.

Of course, having an idea is the easy part... Hmm, I just thought of something... :w00t: When is the deadline again?

And we have colour yet to come.

It is going to be very difficult to pick a winner.  Whoever the winner is, remember you can gift iClone 5 to someone else if you already have it...or you can give it to your kids, friends or neighbours.   But let's face it, a Golden Pinhead voted by your peers is the real prize. :P

We have renewed the website yet again for another year (June 2014), so we are not going away yet and I imagine we will have another project on a slightly larger scale in the future.  Brian will likely add a place for suggestions again in the vote, so would love to hear everyone's thoughts.

Deadline for this project is April 30, 2013 so there is still time.:hehe:

As soon as he said, "vanishing cream" I thought, "Uh oh."  My oh my, but Chuck sure did need SOMETHING!  Discoloration was not his only problem.  That was great.

I liked the action of the first guy the chick walked past.  His hand/arm/body gesture was great, like "Hey, what's wrong with me?"

I'm starting to think Pinhead needs to start testing these products prior to making his commercials.  Poor Pinhead, something always happens, but he sure keeps on trying.  I liked that he had a back-up product ready to sell, and his "Teef" reference was excellent too.

Joe's vanishing cream is definitely useful. When you see your boss approach you about that report that was due two weeks ago, that cream would save the day!

I'm almost done with another "just for fun" ad clip... Maybe we can all work for one of those Madison Avenue firms!

Lately, we have seen Pinhead promote everything but himself (the clip about PinheadHQ is close, but focusses on Pinhead's work for the Committee), so he asked for my help. The result is "Get Pinhead!"

I, too, enjoyed your additional background characters again, which I had noticed in the original "Breeze-away" commercial.  The background sound was well done too; present, but not intrusive.

If I was casting a movie, I'd grab Pinhead right away.  Hey, maybe I am casting a movie.  Hmm...

Well, anyway that was very enjoyable and I was glad to see that Pinhead has picked up some color. A very nice tan and it looked great on him. :D

Just a note to say thank you so much for your participation in the project.  So many entries and we are thrilled.

The committee is currently reviewing the videos and criteria for the voting.  Brian is preparing the "Voting Booth" and I would imagine it should be ready by Monday but he has to do all the work, so I can't totally speak for him.  I will try to keep you posted.

On the website, once it is ready, there will be instructions and a Voting Curtain which when clicked will reveal the vote.

I was a bit puzzled by the wide range of the deadline: several days...:unsure:

It would be nice to round-off what has been a very successful & enjoyable Pinhead Family Community Mini Project, with as many votes that those who've been following this Thread have time to cast.

So - If there are those who haven't voted yet, your votes would be the icing on the cake:)

Thanks again to everyone who participated.  It has been fun watching EVERYONE'S clips.  I wish I could vote for them all.  Even ones that didn't receive a vote from me were very fun to watch, and every clip added so much to the project.  It is so fun seeing how everyone has a unique style and flair, and all the clips fill me with inspiration for future activities.

As Colour said, I hope a lot of people vote.  Voting is not limited to the participants.  The voting booth is open through Friday May 17.

We now look forward to the presentation of the Merit Prizes & Golden Pinhead Awards.:)

Is there any information on when the winners will be announced? I've told people about it and I get asked everyday since the event closed as to what the outcome is. I don't mean to be pushy, just want to clue my peeps on when the presentations are to be made. :D

The Committee like to put on a little bit of a show for the presentation, Pete. They decide upon the 4 Merit Prizes, both of which take a bit of time, since they have day jobs & are in different Time Zones.

The  Awards Ceremonies have been foreshortened a bit recently due to time constraints.

Following that, there's still work to be done, distributing the Merit Prizes & Posting the inscribed Golden Pinhead's in the Hall Of Fame. 

Brian will update www.pinheadhq.com News & I'll continue Posting, here. So - Expect possibly about a week.

Welcome-back Paul:) (It was Paul's idea for a Pinhead Community Project back in 2006, that has spawned so many wonderful Clips & Awards Shows since then).

Congratulations to all of the worthy winners & other Participants for taking time-out in submitting their Clips, to become part of  Pinhead's extending Family.

A very successful Community Project, made-so by all those involved from concept to the final distribution of the Participation Certificates.:)

I'd love to watch the finished Awards video - but YouTube have blocked it in Germany. :angry::crying:

Congratulations to all the winners.  Your hard work was evident and the GPAs well-earned.

I am thankful for the "Script" recognition.  The high standards set by all the other entries make receiving a GPA a genuine honor.  (Roger - How shall we split this?  Top/bottom?  Or a time-sharing arrangement?  How about you take the back half?  ;)  )

A special thanks to The Committee for creating a "Junior Division" award.  That was really kind and generous, and is greatly appreciated.  On a related note, Viking Jr. has already been working on a Fun Clip and he's waiting for me to spend time with him to help with the video editing work.

And once again, a BIG THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO PARTICIPATED.  I really enjoyed watching every clip, and they all added greatly to a wonderful project.

We were absolutely delighted with the creativity of everyone and the enthusiasm everyone showed in this project.  It really made me excited to be part of it.  To explain our animation with "Predict Magic"...we were at a loss to pick a single "Best" video.  They were all so good for so many different reasons.   Everyone on the committee was in a difficult place, because we could not agree on a single "Best" video.  With that dilemma, we asked Reallusion if there was any way we could get more prizes.  And they were so cool about this, that they said yes!!

So....we simply could not rank the videos as 1st, 2nd, etc.  We felt the 4 top videos had reasons that could be argued that each one was the best.  So...this is why the awards were presented the way they were and it was in no particular order.

As to the Golden Pinheads....that is strictly a tally of votes by all of you.  The vote turnout was very good (could have been better) but we had enough data to clearly set out a winner in each division, other than best script...where Teef and Safety Fork had equal votes.

I wish everyone could win a prize but as we always say, participation in this project is really rewarding and fun and the interaction with all of you makes this extremely rewarding, so thank you.

If the prize winners could send me a PM with their correct email for their Reallusion account, I'll pass it on to Reallusion for distribution of the prizes.  If you already own your prize, and want to donate it to another forum member, you can do that also.  Just let me know your wishes via PM or email alley@iclonealley.com

I found the Predict Magic commercial actually quite clever and entertaining, and I think it would have stood a good chance in the competiton. :w00t:

I also believe that the mini format made it possible for many of us to contribute a clip or even two, despite day-to-day commitments, such as family, work, life...:unsure:

I'm pleased with my certificate, it looks good printed out in colo(u)r. And, it came quickly this time!

I have two now, but could have three: I still have an unfinished Pinhead's Wish project. I was supposed to be retired now and making films, but last August I was called back to work...:unsure:

It's funny, I had been folowing Pinhead for several years, contemplating to participate, but staying on the sideline, until Peter (colour) asked my to join in.
