Question about closing mouth and flattening smiles

I often need to take an image and close its mouth and eliminate or reduce the smile to use that image for 3D texturing. That can be done but is very tedious in Crazy Talk 6. Does anyone know if CrazyTalk7 Pro will make that any easier, or if Face Filter 2 or 3 allow you to do that more easily or with better results? (just downloaded trial of FaceFilter2 and didn't see any way to close smile)

Thank you for any help.

Hi..

I'm not sure what you found tedious about the process in CrazyTalk 6.

All you need to do is go the Mouth Settings > Lips and put a check in Force To Close. It couldn't be any simpler really and CrazyTalk 7 works in exactly the same way.

Hey Peter. I'm not trying to bash Crazy Talk; I just haven't found it to be the one click solution that I was hoping. I'm aware of the Force Mouth to close option and have used it many times. But depending on how much the person is smiling, I haven't always been able to get great results. And I really need the lips closed all the way, with no teeth showing, and the lips in a fairly neutral position for use on 3D models for texturing. So I often use the flatten or lower corners of mouth feature - which can require 50 clicks at times - I think it just moves pixels a tiny bit each time - don't know if it's a muscle based system in CrazyTalk6 pro. And to close mouth, have to experiment over and over with outlining lips with the dots, forcing them closed, seeing where it's not closed right, readjusting the dots, trying again - and doing that over and over. Was wondering if the new system had improved on the old in that particular feature.

Hi..

Thanks for explaining more. I certainly never thought you were bashing CrazyTalk, but I was just curious when you mentioned that mouth closing was a tedious process.

Sadly because CrazyTalk works using just a single photo or drawing, if the mouth is wide open it will be very difficult to get a realistic mouth closed look using the "Force Close" button in CT6 or CT7. This applies even for professionals using Photoshop.

Ideally you should try to use a photo where the mouth is closed or only partially open for best results.

Looks like the best solution might be for me to bring all my images into Photoshop (or maybe After Effects), close the mouth as much as I can without causing undue distortions, and then bring that pre-treated image into Crazy talk to close the rest of the way.
